Ecstatic to get my first heviorm! Not so excited about having to pickup another brain with it Would've been nice to just send invoices to those that had already tried for the orms, but probably too much work. I'm assuming the idea was to get rid of extra brains that weren't selling...must be a funko strategy End of my entitled whining
Maybe? The Screwbiter 2.0 was eventually listed as sold out after a couple of days but that doesn't it was completely.
SB made great stuff back in the day with prices 400% less than what they charge today. Original sculpts, great pairings, great design. Hiddy has always wanted to be Hikaru from BH. I don't think Hiddy has ever been involved in any of this for the sake of the hobby. I think he's always wanted to create a brand that is business only. Just my take.
Given that he’s parading around almost daily in a Ronald McDonald costume and making Funko Pop figures of himself, I’d definitely say he’s far removed from ever doing it for the hobby. Actually, I can’t really speak on “ever”, as I wouldn’t know. But he sure as shit isn’t now. I got into the game crazy late, but at least there was still the occasional painted fight figure release by the time I did. And I am glad for how unpopular the Obake Dog is, as I still get giddy whenever I come across one for sale I don’t have.
"Imagine snorting the finest cocaine off of Salma Hayuk's belly. SB is better." - Frank Kozik, 2005 Too bad they peaked and went downhill around five years later. Early stuff is still classic IMO
He and I had an interesting exchange at Toyfair last month. He was at the SFBI Originals booth and got into the "is it really sofubi if it's made in china" debate. Short answer is he thinks it doesn't matter.
Hiddy is a cracked out wannabe Japanese Ronald McDonald. The dude is just goofy. They did used to make killer stuff but now, I don't know what he is doing. Like what the fuck happened to Rebel Inks??? Oh but here have another shitty license toy that 10 other companies made too.
How about those Wings though??? Despite the sad state the hobby may be in, there are still a few standard bearers keeping things alive.
you got it andy, let’s talk about the new skullwing release... 6 figures / 3 sets: painted and unpainted (with tampo). you’ve got it all, glitter, gid, marbling! blind bags to keep the suspense up. solid release all around. I personally love the painted releases slightly more, but pus keeps upping the level on the unpainted ones, so they stand alone great as well. my favorite of the unpainted is the gold glitter since it works as a great compliment to the sliver osaka wing. and for the painted, it’s between the purple/gid and the blue glitter. now to just track them down
Releases like this are a lot of fun. My only regret is that it wasn’t a website drop so you could open a blind bag and then maybe try to trade for a more preferred version. Either way, what an exciting release at a little under $100 a pop retail.
Dammit...why does every one of those new Wings have to be so good. It would be a lot easier on my wallet if there were some so-so releases thrown in there.
Jesus bloody whatever, I don't even understand how this bloody nonsense works !! I came on this godforsaken board like 12 years ago looking for ''an angle'' on pushead gear....I look at the stupid Secret Base store every morning and have to suffer through funko crap and Ron English junk burning my eyes. But Pushead gear...fucking desert. AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHH. I actually kicked something and broke it when i found out I had missed the unpainted blue skull hevi. And don't even get me started on those idiots out for th gouge on ebay. I have a farm and kids and animals and whatnot...there has to be a few gnarled chunklets of soft skully vinyl for us ''otherwise occupied folks''...
