I didn't really notice it first season as they were apart for nearly all of it .. but Mike and Will Byers look very similar
I'm just going to repeat a brief ramble of mine, from another forum that I've been haunting lately, as if I just thought of it: Okay, I admit that a whole control panel's worth of my buttons were just pushed - manipulation accepted and embraced! Man, we dropped so many quarters into Dragon's Lair. It was trial-and-error memorization - left, left, up, down, right, up, left and on and on - but super fun anyway. I never won it, sad to say, but Todd Ferguson's older brother, Sean, did. He was kind of a hero that day. We all loved the sequel, too. Well, not really a sequel, but the animated adventure that you kind of control thing was used again. What the heck was it called? SF instead of fantasy... Space Ace! Yep. Man, I'm old! Hot take!
The DVD of the first season hasn't come out yet has it? I looked but i really couldn't find anything. I haven't felt like doing the Net Flicks thing yet to watch these.
@Headhunter I don't believe they have DVD plans for this series yet, only seems to be bootleg copies for sale. Freaked out a bit when I watched the trailer this weekend, one of the better trailers I've seen put together in a looong time. Got me excited early for the Fall + Halloween season! Cant wait to see where this goes, looks like proper fun. Also interesting they decided to show Eleven at the end - I guess its not a spoiler as she is listed in the credits for Season 2.
Dragon's Lair and Space Ace were such groundbreaking games for their time.. I must have dumped hundreds of dollars into Space Ace. I beat it however I've never beat Dragon's Lair... Ran into some dude one time that had both main characters tattooed on him..
Would have been bonkers of them not to include her in the action, both based on the end of s1 and the rather rabid response to the character from the fanbase, but what I'm wondering is... Will they contrive some sort of an excuse to resurrect Barb somehow? Seemed the net was more in love with her than the major players for a while there.
Dragon Lair was the bomb back then. The animation-driven graphics were so cutting edge. Loved that game! ST season 2...... bring it.
I'm surprised that nobody's weighed in yet. Midway through the new eps and, although I have plenty to say, I just wanted to mention Spoiler Brett Gelman! Probably not even a spoiler, really, but it was news to me.
I'm enjoying it. The first episode was a little jarring, mostly because of the soundtrack (bigger budget = more '80s songs throughout), and some of the sets seem to have magically expanded (most notably Will's house). A few scenes have played out very TV-ish which may very well be intentional, but I'm really enjoying the little dude playing Will. He had little to do in the first season, and he's absolutely killing it in this one. So far so good for me.
I know what you mean. Whereas the first year was very much a period-specific film collage, a lot of what this run feels like is a veeeeery fucked after school special. Crossed with Mad About You a certain popular sequel featuring Paul Reiser, heh.
Interesting reads about Twin Peaks ; ) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/on-deman...-the-design-genius-behind-tvs-most-talked-ab/
Watching Dustin fall in love with that lizard thing and being too stupid to realize it's dangerous was enough to make me call it quits after the third episode.. went back to binge-watching Banshee (which is probably more garbage than Stranger Things S2 but hey at least it moves along at a brisk pace).
Yeah, I pretty much hate-watched the whole thing. So slow, boring and low on stakes. I loved the first season and thought it would continue to be the best thing... I'd compare season 2 to Poltergeist 2 in terms of dropping the ball. The super high fresh rating on rotten tomatoes makes me think Everything is shit and mediocrity praiseworthy.
I loved season 2 !!! Dont get how anyone can hate on it. Also Spotify has a stranger things soundtrack.
