I wrote that those characters, the figures posted above, look like they'd be really fun to hang out with if they were living beings.
These look amazing altogether as a set! I only got the first four. Now I'm tempted to complete the collection!
Lovely, Myles! Seeing the whole set of the AM5 guys is pretty intense and mind-blowing. I'd happily fill a shelf with the re-issues of these fellas, they look so well done, and offer an amazing dream fulfillment to a lot of folks who will never be able to track down complete versions of the vintage toys.
Stupid question, because I should know this by now, but - is everything Medicom releases a collaboration with another toy manufacturer?
I really like this VAG series, I got anraku and zollmen might get the namanari mermaid set of 5. I gotta find some special display to save space.
You could probably fit all 5 in this little display box from the container store.. https://www.containerstore.com/s/multi-level-display-box/d?productId=10022884&q=action figures
I would say mostly collaboration with other artists and designers, rather than other toy manufacturers. They have always made 'licensed' products, but to my knowledge the reissues of other makers toys like Nakajima and Marmit is a more recent thing. Before that, they were mostly known for their Kubrick and Be@rbrick toys. I could be wrong about this. If anyone wants to school us on the history of Medicom, i'd be interested to read it . . . .
Yeah but only for certain areas "This item is shipped to the following countries only. Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand" So looks like another damned item im probably going to have to order through BidBadToyStore or whatever.
has anyone heard anything about these guys? i forgot that i paid for one until stumbling back on this thread. where are they?????
