Coming up later this month with Medicom's next round of pre-orders... thought at least a few people might be interested simply due to popularity. The older Tiger Mask reprints they produced commonly fetch at least 30,000yen on the aftermarket so this is a great opportunity to add one to your collection at a fair price if you missed the older variants. I think this 1st period model looks great. I believe the main difference between this and the previously released 2nd period color seems to be the white ears on the mask (which is a subtle but nice touch). You can read a bit about the history of the different versions HERE. Photo courtesy of sofvi.tokyo.
I've been putting my orders in at MCT TOKYO, but they only offer DHL and over the last year or so rates have skyrocketed (e.g. they want $69 to ship one standard size figure with a mini). Due to the fact I've started shipping purchases to my Tenso address in Japan where I then ship to myself at a significantly lower rate. Even with tax applied (which isn't added when shipping internationally) it still comes up cheaper than shipping direct. C.J.MART is another option. I hadn't checked before but the postage price I'm seeing is a whole lot less by comparison (they note that they will utilize EMS or DHL). The same figure had an estimated fee of 2,780yen. Now I feel silly for not having gone that route before.
I forgot to mention, in some instances due to licensing restrictions the outlets previously mentioned might not ship certain figures overseas. In that case a good option would be to use a proxy shopping service like FromJapan to purchase through Project 1/6 via Rakuten.
Big thanks for posting this! I've been eyeballing vintage ones, but would be just as happy with a reprint!
I'm not sure this is the right thread, but I just saw this new Garamon and I find it really disturbing because it reminds me of Pennywise. Am I nuts? View this post on Instagram
Does anyone know what is the most recent Anraku Godzilla lottery figure that’s currently shipping? Any help is greatly appreciated!
There was a lottery for a brown/red desugoji sometime late last year, though I never heard anymore about that.
Thank you so much for response! Do you know if that one or the GMK were open to USA residents to enter? I heard they are Japan only now but I’m not sure if that’s true. Any info is appreciated. Thnx again!
I remember the Anraku Goji lottery that was going on at the same time as the Pumpkin dude was Japan only..
The new Bullmark style Ultra series by MAT (MONSTER ART TOY) is looking pretty good. For standard size sofubi the prices are pretty steep at retail though (20,000yen for Taro and 25,000yen for Tyrant). Photos courtesy of sofvi.tokyo.
