Finally gone to the local cemetery. Only one good picture so far but going to try and hit this spot a lot over winter. Want a more big fluffy cloud background kind of day here.
Way to respect the people who have passed away. BIG thumbs to you. Hope you get a kewl shot next to the gravestones.
I've taken photos in cemeteries before, but I intentionally only use the backs of stones to keep names out of the photos. Or I keep the focus on the toy with a high enough depth of field that anything else is blurred aside from general shape recognition. I find them to be very calming, beautiful and aesthetically pleasing places to visit. Personally, I don't see this as disrespectful or desecrating.
We had this discussion before I went. It's an interesting concept on personal values. Some of the temples I took toy photos at in Cambodia were ancient tombs of kings. Tourists everywhere doing selfies. Is it different if I am just being playful and artistic? I don't think so. I felt far more disrespectful walking over graves which every single person who visits someone here would have to do because the graveyard was so compacted. I also imagine anyone who calls me out on this has disrespected the living more than they could count. Thank you for the idea on blurring names. I will do that for sure in the future. Do horror fans get upset at scenes filmed in graveyards? I'm not coming at anyone in this rant. Just thinking.
