^^^ Cool! These were put together by my friend Olivier, the guy behind Barbés Records, the same label my project Miramar is on ~Also unrelated, from my day at the JFK Center: ...man I have some catching up to do here!
Never really caught the appeal of Ambient, but this particular Eno record is glorious. Had no idea Phil Collins was on it. May need some time to process that. Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) is pretty great, too, but this one's something else altogether.
I have been really digging these guys recently. https://fuzzoramarecords1.bandcamp.com/album/volume-rock
I've been keeping Sylvan Esso in heavy rotation lately. This is totally not the type of music I normally listen to but this womans voice has me mesmerized every time.
Depends on what kind of mood I'm in and if I'm working on a project or somethin..... Music being looped right now:
^ Love it when the gems of my hometown like GWAR & Lamb of God get mentioned. Beautiful people, and kickass artists.
This time last year my girlfriend and I were at Gwar-B-Q. One of THE best weekend festivals I've personally ever been to. Wicked hot, though. My girlfriend ended up getting heat stroke midway through Gwar's set so we skedaddled back to our hotel room. But she and I were both clad in foam armor and got our photos taken with the gwarriors (who my girlfriend has been friends with since highschool). Wish we could have made it this year. Next time We would definitely want to take 2 or 3 more days to really do some exploring around Richmond. I'm a huge history nerd, too, so being in the heart of the Confederacy got me all moist deep down inside. Love Virginia. I'd personally live there If I could. Also really need to get to Gwar Bar or just order one of their tiki mugs....Must have one for the collection! Oh also, before I forget, the night we arrived in Richmond after about 12 hours of driving (3 of them being stuck in shitty DC traffic....stupid GPS) we ended up stumbling across a shack on a quiet road that not only made Chinese, but burgers, fish, pizza and fried chicken. It was amazing. I still hold it as being THE best fried chicken I've ever had. I wish I could remember the name so you could experience it for yourself.
Old time rock and roll: Warning: May contain trace elements of Eno. NO NEW YORK: Contortions / Teenage Jesus and the Jerks / Mars / D.N.A.
That sounds like the Cookie Monster on Darbytown road! Southern breakfast, Chinese food, and everything in between...
Just did some research on Google Maps and it looks like it was actually Red House on Rt. 1 Jefferson Davis Hwy. I know that because we stayed at that Country Inn on 613 next to La Quinta.
PBS re-ran and just finished the series Dancing on The Edge. Entertaining and the music and imagery were great! Anywhoo, the fictitious Louis Lester Band, with music created by Adrian Johnson, is a nice listen... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_on_the_Edge_(TV_series) http://www.allmusic.com/album/dancing-on-the-edge-mw0002468583
Right??? Makes me want to go back to the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland with this band giving me an audio tour. On their, I believe, their latest album...they have a song titled "Beware! Cocksquatch" Makes me laugh every time I hear it. They put on an impressive live show too. Didn't get to see much of their set at last year's Gwar-B-Q but it was certainly awesome from the bits I did get to see!
'FRANK'. Michael Fassbender channeling Jim Morrison via Johnny Depp doing his impression of Hunter S. Thompson. Cool little indie flick - check it out if you get the chance!
