Here are a few I took as well at WonderFestival. Thanks Data for the Great photos!! Just a few pics to show how fxxking long they were. I was on the first train and was at least three thousand deep!! The line behind me In front of me (that's only a partial view, the other thousands of people are out of view) as the line started moving (in front of me) Last bridge to cross before the entrance The door is in sight Oh did I say it was freezing out? Up next from Rumble Monster "Dragon Engine". I'm not a fan of this one. All of the Rumble Monster stuff was sold out by the time I got there, but I was able to grab the last Black Scud figure. I was at the booth about 15 minutes after the doors opened I was also able to grab the last Strawberry, before they all sold out as well. The Red and other color to the right were pre-sales. This Bemon was auctioned off (only One): All Gargamel (both sets) were Sold Out I didn't buy this Orange RxH figure, but he did sell. The 30,000 yen was for the three pieces. My modest scores, the Balzac/Merry figures were from a trade:
Mark, great pics!! How long did you have to wait in line before you got in? that line looks INSANE!!!
thanks for sharing the pics mark!!!! do you know if the unpainted black pharaos were for sale??? or just proto display??
The lines moved pretty quickly once the doors opened. They actually started moving everyone closer as it got closer to 10:00. The doors opened at ten and I was really thousands of people back. It was a steady flow and I got in around 10:15 to see Gargamel SOLD OUT, all of the Rumble Monsters SOLD OUT except the one (and I got the last one), I got the last Longneck also. Shit is really limited and really crazy!! Yes all the Rumble Monsters were for sale except the new car figures.
Hey Mark, Nice reporting from the front lines. Excellent pics!!!! Boy, I wish I was back in Japan...........
Great pics! Can't get enough of this fest! Also, can't belive the lines. What time did u arrive? Based on the fact u were so far bac`k, I can't believe u scored what u did!
I was on the first train (5:08 AM). That got me there a little after 6:30. I just couldn't believe the line. Big Sight is on the right as you exit the station, but I had to go to the left. A long way to the left. I was really surprised how quickly the lines moved. I knew I was in trouble when I got to the Gargamel table and no one was in line Same for pretty much all the tables. The one thing that saved me was all the crazy ass porn. I think that's what most of the Japanese Otaku were there for. The lines for that shit were crazy!!!!
Imagine making the trip overseas to Japan to hit these festivals and STILL not being able to score the goods! I would surely take the trip if there was a chance I'd leave with a handful of Cronic and Blobpus's's's's. Oh well, you can always numb the pain with sake and hookers.
Overnight? More like weeks in advance!! NO SHIT!!!!! I think they hired the homeless for something like 500 yen a night (less than $5).
Straight up! Awesome, I've camped for stuff in the past (most recently Wii) it's fun if you get a crew.
The sheer mass of people is insane (although, I guess, no less insane than SDCC). However, camping out for a week in the freezing cold? That's more dedication than I've got.
