So I want to see who is down to do a hardcore/punk mix cd trade like the way it was done earlier with the metal mix cd's. Whoever is down put it down on here. Also, let's keep up real hardcore and none of that bro-down,peckerwood,violent crap OR emo/mtv friendly watered down filler either!

I'll start the list. Please put down your board name and your top 5 bands you like. More info to come in the future.

I'd be into it if the recipient of mine is ok with getting a tape instead.

Awesome!!! This is gonna be great. All you guys have great picks.

Stewart:man the Dicks are great. I hated keeping them from the top5 but I guess I am also going by what I have been hearing allot. As for Clorox Girls, that 7" somgle "Eva Gron" is amazing!

what do you think it is about expensive vinyl toys that attracts hardcore kids? maybe its because alot of us are/were into expensive coloured vinyl (records) so we just switched from one vinyl to another?

Tapes are great too. I put cd's only because I'd figure that most folks would be going digital, but I prefer tapes. Tapes or cd's are fine but all entries must have at least 1 hour of music.

there was a whole thread about this once

someone find it and resurrect it

I would say I'd be down for this, but I haven't steadily followed the hardcore scene for several years now and if anything my mix would just be a whole bunch of old classics that everyone knows

or stuff that I consider hardcore, but might not fit in with the hardcore theme of this mix (a prime example would be Chokehold)

I definitely have not switched. I still to this day collect records. I got lucky getting into hardcore and buying record when I was 10 years old. My first show was Fear and Circle Jerks at Devonshire Downs on the campus of CSUN in Northridge,CA. I was 10 years 2 months. The first record I bought was Minor Threat "In My Eyes" 7" 1st pressing for $2.99 at Best Records in Panorama City near Pacoima in September of 1984. I was 10 years 4 months. The last record I bought was Punch In The Face new 12" on Lengua Armada. This was 2 weeks ago. It helped having a bigger brother who was also into punk. I still release records(I'm up to 33 7"s released so far),and I still go to shows and put on shows, etc. The connection to toys for me has always been Star Wars. No questions asked. If it wasn't for Star Wars I probably wouldn't be into this shit!

Do it up Skylar. I actually like Chokehold allot. We are talking about the straight edge band from Canada from the late 80's/early 90's right?

Yeah,I'll probably put on some obscure as fuck vinyl I own but it's all good. This is just for fun...old shit rules anyways. By the way if anyone has or knows where I can get one I really want a copy of the EAT "COMMUNIST RADIO" 7" on Giggling Hitler Records with the insert. I'll pay $800...NO BULLSHIT!

The Chokehold/Crisis of Faith split 7" from 1989/1990 is the best Chokehold I have in my collection. Ripping stuff.

    Ok,let's continue with the list!

I was so bummed that I missed all the Dicks reunion shows last year. Somehow they all managed to happen on nights when I had to work.
