Post Miura figures
I was really excited to finally land this amazing vintage guy from Miura. He is one of those guys (for me) that you spot one time, and never forget seeing. I don't know too much about the company, but I really love these rough, old sculpts. Since we haven't seen any new Hukkokudo releases lately, I think these vintage guys deserve some love. You can clearly seen the influence of great sculpts like this and the Yonezawas on the later figures like the TE Gameldon (as discussed here). For me, this is the epitime of collecting, he combines an amazing dinosaur creature with a fantastic kaiju. Sorry for the rant, but I really enjoy him. I have also shown the maker's stamp, for future identifications.

There are a couple other Miura guys seen in the other thread, but I would love to see what some people have, and listen to any info on the company or the history of these guys.

Wow UK that is one amazing sculpt. This is the kaiju I'm into also- really rough simple old sculpts. That's a great find, where on earth did you find it? Anyone know the name?

Sweet, thanks to that other thread I was able to identify another of my beloved rejects. The battle-wounded (or maybe shy?) two-headed Ghidorah. Seriously, this guy is so great, clunky, comical, and you can't deny he is unique. The more I see of these Miura sculpts, the more I love. :)

Sanjeev,
If you are talking about the first Morphy auction, it was the same guy as this one. The only thing that glows are the eyes and maybe the teeth and horns (it has been a while since I have looked at mine in the dark) and they do not glow very brightly. The same is true w/ the three other vintage Miura vinyls shown in the other thread. One of these days I will take a glow shot of them all.

Yup. Okay, same one, huh? Hmmm....I vaguely remember trying to see if it really glowed...and I remember not being impressed. But I coulda sworn there was SOME dim glow coming from the vinyl, not just the paint on the eyes and teeth. Of course, it's been a while!

Hey Jeevs, i won that auction, but morphys made a mistake and said i didnt. Over a year later, Josh sent me a link to a morphy auction, and there it was. It hadnt sold because they screwed up.

Couldn't agree more. It gets harder and harder to resist the pull... we need to arrange a tour of the rumpus rooms of all the hardcore vintage collectors around here, like my auntie organizes every year for the gardens around Pittsburgh! If I could see the toys it might help help assuage my urges to buy the toys!

Fucking weird. And shitty to have happened.

I hope you didn't pay for it the first time around...

I got that Miura dinosaur set in today (Dimetrodon, Triceratops, Pterodactyl). One minor complaint. The vinyl is so malleable and soft that they got squished in shipping. Spent about 45 minutes blowdrying and cold rinsing but barely got them into standing non 'pressed in face' positions. Here's load of pics (thanks Daniel for pointing them out):

Pristine! It's so rare to see vintage patchi dinos in such great condition.

...did I tell you about the paint variants that were sold individually bagged?

Yeah I can't complain about the paint/condition though. They definitely looked pretty unused. Are some of the paint variants in this thread Daniel?:

Joe's Triceratops is definitely different, even the Dimetrodon up top from UK is different.

Yeah, there's the Dimetrodon and other standing dino. Don't know if those were sold in a 3-pack like yours.

The variants that I know of are the Pterodactyl and Triceratops, which are in Jim and Joe's photos from the 2nd page of that thread. The variant Ptero has less silver paint. The Trike has heavier paint on its face.

Those are so minty and fresh.
You should hunt these other guys to go with them.
For clarification sake so people don't get confused, only the front three that Lixx posted above are made by Miura.
The other four in the back are not stamped.

It's not marked by any maker so no idea the name.
It's an original from who knows when.
Some more pics:
