Oh man! That's so awesome. I used to have some when I was a kid along with a bucket full of M.U.S.C.L.E. and a hand full of Battle Beast.

This is one of one prototype Vinyl/Polyresin with a sound ship
in 1993 i did a lot of redesign work of the My Pet Monster toys
new plush, minis, pvcs, vehicles (my pet Monster Trucks)
and this tub toy that talked when wet
it is hilarious I just found the proto in boxes of stored stuff....
this was never produced beyond this sample

Animator, those Monster in My Pocket figures are great! I've never seen a pic of that display before. I heard they may be coming back. I have a few that were mailway premiums from food and some that were cereal prizes. I wish Matchbox had made the hauted house that was adverstised on the back of some of the packages.
My Pet Monster rules, too! :D

Sharkman is the action figure version of the Maui & Sons logo. It was produced by Beyond-Action Figures, which went out of business pretty much as soon as they made these.

He comes with a surfboard, skateboard and, somewhat inexplicably, a snowboard. Because all good man-sharks like to play in the snow... in Hawaii.

Huh. Can't say I'm totally loving that MOTUC TrapJaw. It's aiight, I guess...

The later green face/yellow eye expression is a little too cracked out for me. Still might get it if the arm attachments are cool. I really dug the 2002 cartoon version: http://www.toymania.com/columns/spotlight/trapjaw.shtml

A Battle Cat that can move...?
But I'm so fond of my OG "zero points of articulation" version.

@TrimmTrabb- Yeah, the monster figures from Sharkman are pretty great. The cardback also shows vehicles planned for the line, like a shark submarine and shark diving vessel that could seat the action figures. Doesn't seem like those were produced.

    I always wondered about this...
There were so many vehicles etc that had complex moving parts...
yet I'm holding one of two cats that cat move and have to look like I'm bouncing around a barbie horse as I played as a 6 year old...

The cat looks awesome. Not into the trapjaw at all.

    That custom is crazy.

The original cats were actually reused from Big Jim molds from the late 70's.

So, that's probably why they were on the simpler side.

no cage can contain a battle cat. Especially one with no pts of articulation.

The Battle Cat is awesome! Still not really into the rest of the series, too literal and well done. I like the crappy charm of the original dwarfish figures.
