Vintage mother hen and chicks. This is a friction-motor toy.
It looks like the motor and wheels are recycled from a car toy. I'm sure i had a few friction-cars with exactly the same wheels!
As this one moves along, Mother's legs move around and the two chicks jump up and down alternately . . .

I'm guessing 1970's. Made by a company called CK.
    £1 at a boot-sale.

^^ That looks like quite an old one . . . . what make is that?

Here's my most recent by Combex Creations. 10" high. Still squeaks.
He's rarer than the average large squeaker from Combex.

Ah yes, sources say 1960's, which sounds correct to me.
    They are quite rare apparently . . . .

Nice! I have a Fred Flintstone too. A friend says he's seen other characters at a flea market he frequents, so I might be able to add a few more!

Wow! Love how the winder is in his tail! Why aren't more wind-ups made with similar attention to design...

Yep, TOMY knew what they were doing. It is a cool little detail isn't it . . . .

Some more Playful Pets, the pink rabbit doesn't glow like the others.
All around 20p each at boot-sales.

Monkey Jockeys. £1.50 for the three at a boot-sale. They are friction-driven. No.1 is knackered, the other two work perfectly.
I have no idea when these were made or who by. I would guess 1970's.

The little monkeys move up and down when they race along :)

and to the left on top of some cabinets (out of shot). Oh, and the cabinet below is chock-full too :)

Vintage 'Orinoco' the Womble by Combex.

One is a Squeaker the other has a hole drilled in the front so it magically becomes a 'Toothbrush Holder'.
Notice there is less attention to the paint on the holder.

The plastic bag cost me £1.50 at a boot-sale.
Made in 1974 and i'm guessing very rare.
