Red: Alright super skullbrainers, I need some info on this bad-ass sculpt....and how to get one Marmit base page so awesome
Whoa! Very rad. I'd like to get one (or all, heh) myself. CDX article with more photos of the red one: http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/1 ... _vanks_dai Here's another version: And a sick illustration: Both images from the blog URL on the back of the header.
added a poll 'cause I'm curious on what people thing and man, the more that I see this the more I want it!
I don't think a lot of people will like it, and the poll is definitely going that route. Those of us into Henshin suits might, but I feel a lot of the folks around here will find it too McFarlane. I, personally, love the clear body with the gnarly arm attachments. 12" figures are some of my favorites, and are one of the many things that got me into this hobby (Skull Toys especially). I could totally see the black one with clear black body facing off against my S.I.T.H. Skull Toys suit.
I'd buy it. I think I'm gonna go against my usual affinity for black and say that I like the red better. Shows more detail.
Hmm, I like it, but I don't know if I $100 like it. The design reminds me of a Bandai S.I.C. take on Guyver or Blassreiter. On a semi-related, has anyone been checking out the new Assemble-Borg toys from Kaiyodo's Revoltech line? They have a similar look to me.
I like it and have to agree with the red. I don't like it as much as a Phantom suit and couldn't put my finger on why. Feels like it's trying too hard. Other than that, I get the Guyver vibe from it and that's fun.
Honestly, it looks like a bootleg SIC. I have nothing against 12" figures, especially Henshin Cyborg style suits like the Toxic Phantom, but this just doesn't have that "vintage feel". A little too "dark and edgy" for me.
It actually looks more like it was designed by Nirasawa than a toy from McFarlane studio. I'll pass, I am not too much in the Henshin Cyborg thing.
I'm now 100% in love with the whole line That last photo just kills. Personally, I dig the henshin looking figure and sure, it might break with the standards that Marmit puts out...but sometimes a company has to take a chance otherwise they end up regurgitating figures ala Bandai.
That's the exact same vibe I got. I like a lot of Nirasawa's stuff, and when I first saw this figure I looked around trying to see if he had done it, but I couldn't find his name anywhere on the site which leads me to think maybe its just Nirasawa-ish? Usually Art Storm puts out his vinyl, so I'm thinking maybe that's the case.
I kind of like it...the head has a bit of an Evangelion feel to it...I'd like to see more detail shots.
Kamen Rider Agito stands out as an influence. I remember some of the villains having a similar look so I wonder if the Nirasawa + K.R.A. show might've influenced the line. I'm curious to see if these are articulated or fixed.
Just FYI: Nirasawa has been doing the creature designs on the last few Kamen Rider series. Not sure if he did Agito or not, but I know he's done almost all of them in recent memory.
Looks like the red one is coming out this month, and then there's this from the same line... There are other shots of him here... http://www.marmit.co.jp/tuhan2/sh-029a.html Does anyone have any of these yet? keith
Not yet - Grumble Toy has the red one up for pre-order right now and (drool) the green Sukuama Kiravankusu which looks just bad-ass
I saw the green one on display today, and its really nice. The other one I wasn't so hot on, but the green one is cool, I love the little fossil dudes in his chest.
