This thread has been neglected for far too long! Here's some clickable ketchup on just some of what most of us have missed from the Japanese event circuit and the mail-order department at M1号 since we last checked in: Plus we can't forget this scrapey fella: Gimmick of the year? I'm not going to even start in on all the crazy excellence that's been going on over at Medicom... http://www.medicomtoy.co.jp/search/+%E2 ... %E5%8F%B7/ Hot soup, people.
Well, maybe just a few. Between GODZILLA FINAL WARS and TCJ50 there have been 29 Yujimades from Medicom in the past year or so. Nutty, huh? Medicom M1Go M1 M1号
It ain't Last Dinosaur, it's the television 'classic' Dinosaur War Izenborg! Anime meets toku, yo. Your 'chap' is Aizen Bo, a cyborg comprised of both a brother and a sister what had a bit of an accident. Here's a superb blog post about all things DWI: https://bbs.popgo.org/bbs/read.php?tid= ... playMode=1 On television, by the way, our dino pal goes by the name Dinosaur king Uluru.
Ahhh. Cool. That's news to me too. Thanks, David. The more you know [rainbow smiley] But I know what you mean, Sanjeev, since it's the same sculpt as the last dinos (of which I still can't seem to find an affordable one, dang it). swoon velvet
I prefer the glows (brown especially) myself Had a chance to get both early on when they were released but never figured they'd be so sought after! Now you never see them come up and even rarer when they do cheaply.
Survey says: GID Last Dinosaurs- Superfestival 52 in April 2010, limited to 30 per color, and the ultimate sad face- 5,000 yen each!
Yeah, I've been on the hunt for one of these dinos too for a while one. Almost had one at a decent price, but since I was driving at the time of the offering, it was gone by the time I reached my office. I really don't want to drop $200 for one (the ones that are currently available at auction), so the hunt continues. I just did not realize that there were so many color variations. I only knew of a few.
I'm always on the lookout for one of these, especially that bright green one. The paint job reminds me of the GID giant Namegon.

S'more M1 ketchup: From the Marusan festival and then by mail order: A proto of a planned giant-sized Kittyfire: A couple versions of this new fellow, Kazuyoshi Saito's crayfish : And Yuji is continuing his stellar Marusan repro line with this lovely Antlar: "Marsan reprint Standard Antler eve version"
Those are all great work, though somehow the Kittyfire proto just looks a little off to me. I think it is just a proportional thing; the body doesn't quite seem long and round enough - more stalky - which could work, but combined with the arms that seem overly long or stretched out, in addition to being really think uniformly and going right to the edge of the 'flame,' I think it is just a bit of an odd balance. Trust in Yuji of course, so I have no doubt the final version and with some paint will change my mind. Giant-sizing a figure is always a challenge. So great to see new toys in development, and I always hold out hope for some original Yuji designs of classic kaiju.
