In 1979, prototypes for 3 ¾” action figures for the ALIEN film were developed but never manufactured. Through our network of industry and collector contacts, Super7 has unearthed reference material and original 34-year-old prototypes and will now make these “lost toys” a reality.

Under authorization from 20th Century Fox, Super7 will produce the full series of ALIEN toys as part of our ReAction Figure Series (Retro-Action). Each is stylized exactly as items from the “golden age” of action figures with approximately five points of articulation, accessories, and period-authentic blister card packaging.

Preorders will begin at San Diego Comic Con!

Seriously, I'm pretty excited about this! Awesome move, S7! I also like that the body format seems to mirror Fisher Price's Adventure People format, and anyone who's seen the FP AP Space Series can second that it's PERFECT for this line. I'm happy to see this style return

The original Kenner Star Wars prototypes were basically repurposed Fisher Price Adventure People. So you’re right on the money!

^^ if only it could shoot acid out of it's hand. although then it may be sought after by the military's weapon's division

remember how the super shogun godzilla had the fire breath "tongue"? well perhaps the same could be done for the alien's inner mouth "tongue", but w' improved strength in the super easy breakable levers.

Not sure if anyone made this connection yet, but the ALIEN REACTION figs were "teaser #4" back in January....

Cool to see these made. But its certainly understandable why these were never produced back then. Basically, they would have been creating a children's toy line for an R-rate horror movie. Not good PR-wise! Nowadays (and with the way these will likely be marketed), these are for adult collectors.

There was no pg13 rating until the 80s ( the 1st being Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom, so an R rating did not necessarily have the same meaning as it does today.

Sorry, I should have quoted the "kids toy line for an R rated movie" statement from above. The Terminator franchise carried R ratings as well and still had toys aimed at children, I was just pointing out that there was no buffer between pg and R ratings back then.

Hopefully theres and even balance of all the characters being sold. I can only see buying the Alien itself since H.R. Giger's design suckers me into buying anuything.

I am sure a lot of people who are going to pick up only 1 or 2 are going to grab Alien and Ripley, I'd imagine Super7 will be prepared for this.

I can't wait to hopefully get a set of these. I hope they are released at SDCC and not in the late tail end of the year.

Those glasses are really awesome, I can't wait to see the final product. I love that it is original artwork, rather than screened movie images. I almost wish they were the same cylindrical shape as the vintage ones though to match all the other fast food ones I have.

$50 for a set of four?! yikes. it might be worth it if they came with cozies in the shape of the egg husk.

That works out to $12.50 a glass. That's not too shabby a deal considering that previous Super7 glasses (Rose Vampire, Garuru, etc) have retailed for $10 a pop!

And the package for this set is killer....all will be revealed at Wondercon!

Any update on the toys??

I am guessing the aim is SDCC, but I hope at least it is not limited to that. As a set makes sense to me, to sell all the figures, but gives me some trepidation over what the cost might be.
