Their death-by-sandwhich thing was featured in a recent episode of Tony Bourdain's "No Reservations." That place has been there for decades as you can see by the sign's reference to "the center of the mile" which goes back to the days when lowriders would cruise the strip on weekend nights until the SFPD put a stop to it circa 1980. Definitely not a place anyone would think of as "foodie" which is why that Bourdain segment was cool ... he intentionally avoided all the top tier restaurants and went for the working class grub, tweaking expectations.  So how was it Bert? Did the vinyl survive?
