Hey folks, I saw that people are starting to receive their Koji Harmon Customs from the Kaiju Kollision show, so I thought it'd be fun if people posted their own photos of the pieces they picked up from the show. I'll start, but first, be sure to check out Josh's blog for images of his paintings from the show, if you haven't already: http://joshuajh.blogspot.com/ So awesome! OK here are some snapshots of the Desura I was fortunate enough to nab: Your turn now.
Love the colorway!! Calling Koji, please post those one off custom Hedorans. I want to see what secret colorways many of us missed... or anyone on the board who scored one would be great to post it here.
Better pics to come later i need to take pics in the afternoon when there is light, this is morning edit: i $#%&*@^& LOVE these guys!!!
Wow, these all kill!!! So awesome to see the figs in their new homes. I'll post when I get a chance to take pix.
The thing about Koji's pieces that bugs me out is the 'false shading' technique that he does with the airbrush. It creates the illusion of intense shadow- esp. in pieces like the Woo and the Baltan. Really cool, almost reminds me of cell shading or something. Who bought that Baltan anyway? Anyone here? I want to see more pics of it.
Thanks for the props, xoconostle! These toys make for some great photography practice. I really dig on that custom desura and those minis. Beautiful pieces!
Here's Beralgon. The pics, of course, don't do him justice - his back is electric metallic blue and looks perfect. Koji has great taste in color combos!
Here's my pink crawler, 1- I suck at pics, 2- my camera sucks worse than me, but I'm not gonna buy a new one, that money's reserved for toys. Dudes blue and pink on WHITE vinyl, I checked if it glowed, sadly it did not. It has a really cool effect with the ripples and the way he painted it though. Sometimes it looks blue with pink paint, sometimes it looks pink with blue. It's def. the coolest!
........WOW.........all of the Koji customs look great! love the colors in Xoconostle's Deathra and the paint job on BloodDrinker's Crouching Hedoran
Well said. That's one of the things that stunned me every time I visited the show. That effect and the overall palette control. His use of pastels on the GID toys was also very effective. Great eye candy.
One of the amazing things about that Smogun is that it's a clear, painted with translucent blue. The coating is so even, you'd think it was dyed, or clear blue in the first place. I love the way the yellow headlights on the feet pop out at you.
