Yeah, Grateful Dead and Beach Boys are great choices. GD's "Dick's Picks" have changed the whole experience for a lot of people, even those of us who saw a lot of shows. Seems they were at their peak circa '72/'73. Beach Boys catalog up until approx 1971 is a treasure chest. I don't think Brian Wilson and the Wrecking Crew get the credit they deserve for brilliant use of the studio as an instrument.
stone roses without a doubt been listening "fools gold" a few times a day in my car for years & never gets boring at all. besides whats the name of the band where this little girl is dancing in a honey bee costume looking like this fig???
So right you are!!! Brain fart. Wire is a personal favorite of mine too (esp. 154, and "A bell is a cup"...) Also love Colin Newman's "It Seems" and "A-Z".
seconded! and thirteen years ago i would've punched myself in the face for this one but elliot smith.

yep - I was thinking about this last night. if I chose anything but the Beatles I would be robbing myself..
I never saw that video but I'm pretty sure you're asking about Blind Melon. Yikes. I wish I'd thought of a lot of the bands others are mentioning ... The Clash, The Stranglers, Iggy ... oh yeah. One is just too few. Thus ... also The Smiths.
even the later albums?? I cant get down with those. even over the edge starts to get tough for me half way through. the only band I personally feel was consistant all throughout every release was rocket from the crypt. in fact Ill go as far as to say that anything speedo has done during/after RFTC is flawless. not to mention the sheer volume of material is amazing. the only other band I can think of right now is Quicksand - once again ill say anything walter has done is pretty much flawless. Ill try to think of more but all I can think of are bands that only released a handful of 7"s or just one. I'm trying to think of some long distance runners here. I will like to add the following albums that strike bands from the category as much as it pains me to do so: cro mags- alpha omega bad brains - god of love and rise(yes it counts) govt issue - joyride slapshot blast furnace black flag - loose nut and espcially my war side b 7 seconds- ourselves (sorry old dudes but huge disappointment to me) SSD- how we rock DYS - DYS dag nasty - anything after wig out angry samoans -STP not LSD please add ones I forgot
Hey, wasn't teh question your ONE fave band, based on their entire catalog? So HARD to choose, and not my all time favorite band at all, but I might say Placebo have never released anything less than great records that have grown on me even when I didn't completely dig them at first!
Joy Division Vice Versa Adam And The Ants (first incarnation dirk wears white sox era) Stump Shop Assistants Bogshed Swing Kids Sensefield Texas Is The Reason thanking you
this is pretty hard. but when I really think about it, I'd have to say: Slayer I mean, even if I didn't have their whole catalog, I could get by with Reign-Seasons alone. I could honestly listen to those EVERY DAY and never get sick of them. Danzig-era Misfits is also a good choice Ramones (you'd have a lot to listen to) Stereolab Morbid Angel
1. they might be giants 2. devo 3. mettallica favorite record the clash "the clash " listning to now aquabats " charge "
