so i just put up some new shelves that a friend just gave me in an attempt to increase real estate for toys. it was a very mismatched set, one being wood, one set black, and another kind of marbelized. i just went out and bought a can of black spray paint and made them all the same and just got them up. i just threw a bunch of random stuff for now but will organize these a little better in the future. just for fun: spot the d-u-n-n-y! whole set up: individual cubes, shelves, and tops of cubes: and the top of the TV, my main display right now, formerly there were dokugans, now it's all Rainbow, Shikaruna, Galtan, and Rangeas. The Doks moved into the library room. one day, i swear i'll do full collection pics. it would take me a week to arrange and then shoot and finally post i think so, hold your breath!! oh, and one more, not kaiju, but something i'm rather pleased with the way it came out is a beaded sea anemone that also lights up but i haven't finished jerry rigging that part yet. one day
Great stuff! Love seeing this and that. Also great Murakami you have up. Can't wait to see a whole collection one day.
I love the randomness of it all, fantastically set up. Every time I see that Bop, I want it more and more. This settles it, I'm getting him. i'm glad to see someone else without a million dollar camera.
Ah, so is that the famous one-off Marnon that Dream Rocket made for you? Nice collection, but expensive vinyl on high shelves gives me the willies.
don't you know about the miracle of museum gel? non-staining, too! and yes, that is the one-off marnon that just came in the mail this past week. i'm not too familiar with the many colorways that has been done of that guy but it looked very much like one i had already seen, is it?
Slight differences. The eye is red (original was gold or black-gold). It also looks like a clear blank that was painted inside with pink, as opposed to the original, which was milky pink vinyl. Nice. Museum gel, huh? Hmm.
With Neither Rhyme or Reason (New shelving Set up don't rearrange these! i love randomness, and this randomness is authentic! organized collections are cool, but when they sit all random-like, the mixture of colors and sizes makes it all the more crazy on the eyes. And you can't really fake randomness either, this shite is legit! props on the rainbow stock, i love all of them, i just haven't brought myself to drop that range of cash yet.
Nice. The different sized boxes add a nice random rhythm to everything. Have you had any "jumpers" yet? I love open shelving setups but the strangest things can make a toy suicidal. Museum gel eh? Nice Murakamis too!
I love the Drag (I've only recently started to appreciate what a great figure it is) - is that a Biskup handpaint? PK custom? Whoever did it - great colors. i kinda' like the Jimbo too although the tartan loin clothe is kind 'o creepy.
TT had some Custom Drag's this year, i was SOOOO tempted. bu they were $250 for the big ones and $150 for the mini's, they were beautiful. idk if they keep em for sale at the store or what tho. leme see if i can drag up a picture... ill post em in whatever so i dont hijack this thread. and that is one beautiful paintjob on that popsoda, there was one at the showroom that was similar i think, either way it REALLY cought my eye.
I love seeing all the different styles of toys together in one army like this. Who is the flocked Barny looking guy in front of Eyezon? I almost always think flocking looks tacky, but he is rather cute.
Agreed. While consistency and armies of the same sculpt are nice to look at, I love seeing so many different kinds of toys all in one place. Nice collection!
good question. i found him at SDCC05 under the table of the last gasp booth. someone musta dropped him and i fell instantly in love. i suspected that it might have been one of the ryden children's purchases, but they were long gone by the time he was found and i forgot to mention it last year when i saw them. thx for all the comments guys!
