I've been thinning out the collection trying to keep it under control, still need a few big wants but this is most of it. Have a few other resin pieces sitting here and there around my room. Here's a better look at the top shelf.
thanks! My girlfriend got it for Me 2 years ago for xmas. He made it personally for me it's pretty rad. also working on sliming down to 5-10 sculpts by the end of the year. I need to stop buying toys and start working on my own more! But it's hard to let go of some. We'll see how it goes.
Your collection inspires me. I have reduced my collection from 45 to 6 in the past 5 months. The back up to 16 now. Trying to get it down to 5, cream of the crop top favorites, but damn Super7 for releasing some amazing colorways!
I find it very satisfying to have control over our collection...lately there are been so many cool releases that it has become both interesting and frustrating... I'm still buying toys but from now on, I will try to stick to 5 or 7 figures... Good point in reducing is that the figures are way more exposed than in a crowd of 45
Kind of "What I Just Got in the Mail" but also a new "themed" collection I'm trying to start. The Sweets Collection. I got a Patty Power coming in to fill in a blank, and looking for a RxH Little Softee. I'm a missing anyone else? Any suggestions?
love the shelfs! except the brace in the corner seems weird to me. great focus on the bootlegs. and all this talk of narrowing the collection to 5 or 6 pieces, i could never do it. i do agree with jl on the having control over our collections angle though. sometimes trying to get 'em all seems silly, frustrating, and not worth it all in the end. all of which should not be associated with a hobby. i have learned to pace the picking up of figures in the last few months, and it sweetens the moments when i actually do pick something up, instead of instantly trying to figure out what is next.
thanks! Yeah the shelves were my idea but built by my stepdad. I came home to them on my wall I didn't get much say on the supports for the shelves. I'd like to change them one day if I can.
Re: I need to start charging rent... I really wish I could! Unfortunately I sold it on ebay with the entire media pack that came with the first two Outer Limits magazines (probably to buy toys lol!). When I got those back in 1991, the magazines included badges (still have some of those) and about 10 offset posters. I MAY have one left in storage somewhere but I doubt it. To make matters worse I had hard drive failure 2 years ago and lost all my pics from 2007-2009. So my auction pics of all the stuff are gone Here's the only remaining shots (which i had to find on flickr) with the poster partly in them (along with a BJM poster): Incidently, little known fact: Pete Kember aka Sonic Boom collects toys!
These two cabinets house my entire collection which began in 2003. Even though it may look a bit random, I am very selective about what I want to collect. (heavy emphasis on Booska here as you can see). The cabinets themselves are becoming very collectible as they are vintage (early 60s) made in Australia (the drawers at the bottom are very handy for storing header cards and stuff!), I now have four of them!
