Is the mixed colored vinyl for the pirates made the same way as mixed colored records? I would think so. I haven't seen very many toys with mixed vinyl; so far only the SDCC Dokurocks set and these pirates. I'm sure i'm missing something though, right?
Not sure if it's the same process, by Vinyl Junkies actually pioneered the marbled look for JP vinyl with their Screaming Pumpkins. That was in... 2007?
D'oh! Totally forgot that the Mishka Boogie was mixed vinyl too. The one to the right I assume? Looks pretty great. I've always wondered whether these guys were based off of the Misfits Halloween 7", or from a different source.
Weren't the Cronic's some kind of paint process? Never seen one in hand, but that was what I thought.
I can think of 3 more not mentioned. There is a GID/Black marbled Lucha Bear, a Larvagon (first release?) that has a clear/GID marbled body, and KT CCP Hedorah /w smokestack that has light/dark green marbling.
Yes, you are correct. I was noting how it was the same exact colors as the pirate Kirkland got. That pirate was pretty sick.
those were definitely based on the Halloween 7" They use a different factory than Obitsu, but Obitsu is now doing marble/mixed now too. I see a lot of it in the future. Those pirates look unbelievable. I'm very jealous.
