@poysntixels - Beautiful Giant Gojira! I also really like the colors on the lil' Popy goji. Excellent scores.
You're correct Roger, I overdid it in post trying to reduce haze and glare. Here's an indoor snap, you can see more of the paint chipping, yes the little Popy has some metallic and of course, the bull does not. Thanks everybody, this took me a lot of time and resources. Prolly done 'til xmas now, ha.
I hear you on the non-buying! Been on a long break myself. Any chance we can get a close up of the mini? Love the metallic green paint on the chest.
Umm here's side and belly shots. The little figure is 1/72 scale GID rotting zombie for scale. No idea. Def not airfix!
@poysntixels beautiful giant goji you got there. Heres my rider focused mail day. Im pretty happy about the V3 jumbo. Managed to get one somewhat under the radar for a reasonable price. Seems like the last two years they have been getting crazy expensive .
Daaaamn. You always got the best photos and vintage pieces. And then there's always stuff in the background just to tease us.
Wow, @poysntixels, you'll have to forgive the pun, but that is one giant of a purchase. It is so amazing to see this fella, one of the key pieces to ever come from Bullmark I think. Simply phenomenal, and one that is on many of our 'lists' without any doubt. I can't believe you scored him complete with the tower too, that's fantastic. He is in really nice shape, with little wear for these fellas, and still bright brilliant paint! I am jealous man (surely they sent him to the wrong Steve by mistake!), but also very happy for you. It doesn't get much better. And your companion Popy mini is just great too. What a duo of the KoM to pick up. I am sure it was a bit of something to bear, but believe me, I don't doubt you will never regret it, and any coming sacrifices will be worth it when you are admiring this fellow on your shelf. Kudos and congrats. That is a great themed mail day, Jonathan. Shaming us as always, you know. The jumbo is indeed something special. As you've said, prices on these the last few years are getting way too far out there for my liking, and unfortunately out of the reach I think. Sad to think on the prices we passed over for whatever reason some years back. But anyways, moving on, he is lovely, and a great find for sure; a worthy reward to a great SBer for excellent hunting skills. I also have to point out, being as how I have such a soft spot for boots, how I love that packaged Amazon. I have one of the other bootlegs (the split finger guy), but need this companion as well. Good thing though, because the packaging would be too much temptation for me to bear. Extra bonus for the Marusan OG! Argh. It's just... well... great toys Jonathan, congratulations on a superb haul there.
Musty goodness arrived. A treasure trove of "loose" illustrations from Showa Shonen King magazines. Which is OK, as it will save space and the pain of figuring what is on the cover, date, and issue number. I crossed about 4 entries off my want list. I scanned a few for sharing purposes...here's one so far. "" A very nice Plamodel. Love that smelly ass box. ""
@XVivaHateX - Excellent pile of riders. I also enjoy seeing that Marusan Baron kaiju. I would love to land one of those some day. It has such a innocent and likable expression, haha. @Paulkaiju - That is such a great art and illustration style from the Shonen King magazine. Thank you for posting, and it would be great to see more of them. It reminds me of those horror-themed model kits. I also agree that vintage Japanese cardboard has a very specific mustiness to the smell. I experience the same thing when receiving vintage vinyl LP's from Japan. Crack open that sleeve and take a big whiff of many decades gone by...
Thanks all.Chris, yes that a shampoo bottle figure. I really have a soft spot for those. Deafmetal, thanks I like that guy too. I have the red version and a mini of him also. PaulKaiju- please post some more of those shonen king magazine scans. Great stuff
Found a few painted keshi from the Bullmark mini figure set: I am hoping to round up all the Toho kaiju some day: I also rescued a mid-size missile-firin' Mechagodzilla from a pile of Bullmark junk toys: This one is missing the tail, but it is so rare that I had to jump at the opportunity: The sculpt is slightly smaller than the regular mid-size MechaG, and the vinyl is a bit softer: Very thrilled to add this one to my collection. I also dig the battered and weathered look of the robot.

^^^always great photos; is that top guy an old Marusan? Haven't seen it or haven't seen that angle. Anyway; beautiful!
@Paulkaiju Man, great pickups, Paul. That's a great Plamodel, and I especially love that illustration. There is just so many parts of a fantastic story contained in the elements there, and it is a gorgeous composition. Makes me immediately want to read the pulp tale that goes along with it, of the Vengeance of the Crystal Woman, from the icy ocean caves of Hokkaido, with her army of resurrected minions. To come across her is to fear her wrath! @deafmetal The Bullmark minis are great, but holy cow, that small missile-firer is a great find! I don't recall the last time I saw one come up for sale, and obviously a very nice sculpt, so even without the tail, he is a nice toy to add to your collection. @Johnny Black Ouch, reliving the pain! Haha, great to see he arrived, Jonathon, even if it wasn't on these shores. Such a great hero, I need to step up my hunt for one of these, and the larger ones too (dreaming!).
Im glad this thread has been so active lately. I feel like there was a year where no one was buying anything. @Johnny Black that seabull is nice. You dont see that OG very often.
@poysntixels - Thank you, I just received a new camera for my birthday, and the photos were some of my first attempts. I am still a total amateur, but I'm trying to improve. I am hoping they look better than my old iPhone5 shots. @Johnny Black - Seabull! You are rolling even deeper in the vintage Marusan kaiju. I love it. It would be great to see a group photo of all your vintage Marusan monsters. What's next, giant Doragiras? @ultrakaiju - Indeed, I have searched the entirety of aucfan's archive, and I only found one other mid-size missile-firing MechaG. It was in much better shape with the tail and at least one missile, and it sold for over 50k JPY many years ago. I have seen quite a few of the mini-size versions with green sprays, which is yet another version I am trying to track down.
Great acquisitions fellows ! particularly enjoy the bullmark teenies @deafmetal , I have a small pile of them myself and enjoy the paint apps and the level of detail on them. @XVivaHateX Johnathan - Bonus round for your Rider collection!
@scobot - Any idea how many different paint versions exist of the tiny keshi Bullmarks? I know of at least two different sets that seem to have different vinyl and paint colors.
@deafmetal No I don't know how many variations there are - That's what makes it so fun! But they did come in lots of colours so I assume that dictated the colour choices a bit, they also came unpainted of course, I have 2 or 3 lunch sets with blisterpacked bullmark tiny's. You've probably seen it but for anyone else interested your guys came from this cool set ... (c/o club tokyo)
