chris although I know you're not pointing the finger at us let me just add some things:

We do our best to curb multiple buys. People get rejected on this almost every time we have a release . The problem obviously lies in 1 area: We are not the only people who sell these toys. Having talked to Ed(atease) about this in person. Between Us, YJA and flipper sites. Someone can buy 3 of a rare toy for whatever he/she wants to(trade bait for flipping). Except were the only ones in that equation looking out for you and telling someone "dude you already got 1 of these". We can only do so much.

As much as we get that "corporate" joke thrown as us. The truth is theres only 7 of us,1 very small coffee maker and hundreds of people trying to beat the system to make a buck on all of you. We do our very best to make sure no one is using us to rip you off though and we'll continue to do so.

    -----

On a another note. There is one thing I can add as I know the feeling of not living near a store like Super7. For a long time I had to really gamble on toys when it came to buying online just like everybody else. You just had no idea if you're going to really like the toy or not until you have the sucker in hand. For years the only place I had the luxury of seeing a toy before I bought it was at comic-con and even then I made mistakes. Other than that I HAD to buy quick and hope when I got it, I really liked it. Luckily I'm a toy pack rat and I rarely part with anything. But I can relate to that "fever" when something drops and the regret that may come after.

I have always wondered if I would buy fewer toys if I lived near S7.

Cause if I was near S7, I could walk in and get my fix by looking or handling new stuff (obviously not the ultra-hyped toys of the week that disappear in seconds). You know, take in all the goodness and vintage without my wallet suffering.

    Initiate thread highjack sequence:
Alex, if you work in a toy environment 40 hours a week, are toys the last thing you want to see after hours or on weekends? Just curious cause you hear about that in other businesses....

hmmm, not sure if anyone buys less toys cause we live near S7. One might argue that we buy more toys. Last Sat for instance, were all standing around waiting for At Ease and we get Alex to open up the cases to see what's what back there. I picked up a little US Toys mini just cause it was sitting there. The whole store is like the candy/gum section right before you check out at the Supermarket.

Peter, your highjack is a much more interesting question. Let's ask the S7 staff about their RxH collections...... :?:

Thanks Alex for the low down on S7 policy. I'm a rat pack it as well, right now I'm having a helluva time sorting through old dark hardcore (the jungle kind) and selling a few.... vinyl for vinyl

I just imagine Alex as a hardcore bouncer who waves his fists and sends S7 fanboys flying...

I like that not everything is put online. It gives visitors a little more incentive to stop at S7.

I think most of us here at s7 will agree but as much as I try to forget about everything on my days off... I pretty much eat, sleep and live toys. I think about the store constantly. I day dream about colorways. Sometimes I talk my friends ears off about stuff they don't care about or understand . You can even find me stopping by the store on my days off  . I can honestly say I love my job and I love going to work everyday. Not to say I don't get burned out sometimes. I still rely on music as my great escape.

But let bust everybody else out here: Everybody here still "ooh"s and "aah"s when the new hotness rolls in. I've heard Glenn squeal, I've heard Joe scream and I still see josh linger in front of the Standard shelves as he's walking by to look at the Frankenruge. Hiro wakes up in a cold sweat screaming about beetlars, Even the elusive Karen can give a serious opinion on every toy here. Don't even get me started on Mr. Flynn who still has the fever as bad as anyone here.

As for Real head: The first month I was here at S7 I talked about how the only real head I collected was the cats. Then the minis got here, and then we saw the bubble releases. Next thing I know I have a real head collection.
I only buy what I like and I like real head...and gargamel and secret base and bullmark and jumbos and Bemons and US toys and Booska and bounty hunter....

I believe there was a discussion with some of the S7 staff that since you guys deal with RxH everyday and usually in a negative fashion, you guys might be soured on RxH for your personal collections.

Selling RxH is a massive hassle with limited supply, overwhelming demand and all the complaints, frustration and RxH rage that comes with it. I can understand if the last thing you want to be reminded of when looking at your shelves is all of BASK clamoring to get in the doors on a saturday or having to send out the dreaded "oversold" emails with subsequent angry phone calls.

yep. totally true. I think with a lot of the real head these days, a lot of the older collectors are shying away from it.
This is partially true for me, but I've only been collecting real head for a little over two years. I've pared my interests down considerably because there is too much to buy now. To put it in perspective for you, I showed Glenn the pink evil I traded for the other day and he said "yeah gorgeous figure, I don't even have one". A good customer needed one and it went their way. (no the customer is not on this board)

Anyway, I think a lot of people got burnt out and get sick of all of the "Gimme this, gimme that" threads on here. I'm one of them, but I also make those posts from time to time, and I remember having real head fever too.
We all do it at some point, but you can't do it all of the time.

A good point Alex was making is that people are overlooking some seriously fucking amazing toys right now. I was shocked to see an old cumberlain sitting in the case at the shop for cheap the other day. I picked it up of course, but looking through the cases, there is a boatload of AWESOME stuff that a lot of you are missing out on.

It's sad, but in a year, a lot of you will be scrambling to pick up stuff that others are grabbing now. But that's collecting and that's what makes this fun. The hunt is half the fun of getting your most wanted figure. If you post that something is your holy grail a half hour after it was released, I'd question whether you want the toy or if you're buying into the hype of others wanting the toy.

Sorry for the rant. I've had some awesome times with amazing people the past few days and my passion for collecting is stronger than ever because I realize how many great things are coming our way, and others share the collecting with the same style as me.

have fun with this folks...they're toys after all...

When they're on sale, I hoard boxes of Grape Nuts and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. If you have a problem with that, too bad.

What's with those Mini Packs anyway? There's only enough in there to feed a gerbil.

Yeah...."recommended serving size" my ass. I can't eat cereal too often, because I like it too much. Before I know it, I've had 2 damn bowls. And not small bowls.
