^ I would have thought those were too soft for painting? Maybe mine are just a little softer then most.

Hand painting all those chrome rings was mind numbing, luckily the new season of Trail Park Boys kept me company.

I've just completed my new paint studio, it's small but really efficient and safe, pumped to get back to painting!

1st, I want to preface this statement as only being my thoughts on recent situation regarding Otus doll.......

I think the issues some folks had expressed related to Otus involve how soon the work was done to a fresh and expressly limited release.

Not speaking for anyone but myself, I took a keen liking to that sculpt and loved the concept from back when Brent made the mini resin figure.

I know a few others whom also were fond of the concept since the resin was done.

Personally I still like the resin better than the vinyl doll. It looks very Pulp era whereas the vinyl doll fits more of the attributes of a functional toy doll.

I was going to try for the unpainted Black because I have unpainted Black or GID of nearly all artists 1st dolls to emerge from SB.

I passed on trying to get it based on thinking maybe unpainted GID might surface and some other fan would appreciate it more than me since it is a newer doll.

I think some of the points of disapproval can be harsh but in any case everybody sees life through their own eyes.

Regarding painting and selling Otus so fast, it raised a few questions as to intentions. Most fans were let down since they missed out on the release. Some because it was painted and sold so fast.

Morally it makes no difference other than to the individual thoughts of all who have opinions on the matter and of course to you for painting it.

You had recently acquired a Cococroc but stated you were not going to paint it. So with that as an example you seem to appreciate it for what it represents as is.

It should not be so hard to realize, although Otus and Cococroc are only related as to being 1st releases of vinyl dolls; why painting Otus would upset some folks.

Not trying to imply anything against you personally, rather just trying to express my take on the whole affair. Once you own something really it is no one's place to object to what becomes of it.

Hell someone burnt my favorite AA Goga as an artistic statement a few years back and successfully sold the burnt carcass!

Back to the point of timeframe, it is easy to see how some folks consider what happened to be akin to flipping as had been stated.

If you had been asked to make that doll look like that as a commission, it would have not appeared as so extreme. You did it for your own reasons as you stated being excited to paint it.

Not hard to see either side of that issue.

Whomever bought the painted doll from you must have certainly been aware of how recent it came out so if Brent got his money and the person got the doll it is over.

I do try to understand and respect every viewpoint that has been expressed both privately and publicly with the exception of verbiage that was made on IG.

Chris you made a really ugly statement at the end of what must have been very frustrating situation to you and David.

I found it offensive and being rude towards any fans in the context you suggested made a bad impression to say the least.

I think an open apology to having said that part towards the end would be in order.

It went way too far, IMHO.

Related only to AA Medicom Goga.

This is the 1st of the applications which I have seen of your work that genuinely appeals to my personal tastes.

It is not overdone nor flashy.

    It looks natural and composed.

    Nice work on that doll.
