so I'm stuck in Orlando, FL and looking for something to do. Can anyone score me some trees (no funny business, please pm if you can help) or is there anything besides busch gardens, Disney etc. Are there any phenomenal liquor stores? Good Cuban food, record shops or something... wish I was in miami.
Park Ave. CDs (records, some "designer toys") http://parkavecds.com/ Uberbot (not kaiju, more Western stuff) http://www.uberbotonline.com Seito sushi is in the same plaza as Uberbot...mmm, sushi! IKEA Orlando, if you don't have one near you. "Antique Alley" numerous shops on Orange Ave., including Rock & Roll Heaven (indie record shop, w/ lots of kitsch) I have no life...
Oh man, this place will hook you up with trees....all the trees you can carry: http://www.flchristmastrees.com/Farms/Index.htm (I'm pretending you didn't ask for a weed hookup on S7's board)
Maybe its just that I love tourist traps, but I love Orlando, and would hate to be stuck in Miami. I go to Orlando several times a year. I wish I was there!
I would probably be just as bored in Miami as I am here in Orlando (I don't think I'm actually in Orlando... Volusia County?) as I don't really have a social night life and I dont really know what else it could offer me. On a side note I found where my collector juice comes from, my grandpa has an insane fountain pen collection as well as a ridiculous watch collection. The man has paid up to $650 for a fucking fountain pen. It aint really so bad here... I just need something to keep my mind off the fact that I'm a whiney hermit who is never too sure about anything that involves me leaving my house. It's also rough to see grandpa gettin old, he aged like ten years since my dad died last year.
I've got a grandpa that moving downhill as well, so I feel ya there. What part of Volusia are you in?
I used to live in O-town for a short stint. If you are in Volusia County, you are sort of out of the loop! Orlando is a tough nut to crack, but there are some SICK record stores...Park Ave. is one of the best in the entire SouthEast...for real! Then, one of THE LP treasure troves is on 1814 Orange Ave. and Yale Street...called Rock n Roll Heaven (HUGE selection of near perfect vinyl, and everything is affordable.)
