I'd like to find an app that will help me track my collection. Preferably I can take a picture and note the date purchased, date created, cost i paid/sold and produced/painted by.
A quick search yielded this list but I'm wondering if anyone here has an app that they use and recommend?

This was posted a while back:

There are drawbacks to apps. The app may not be customizable to store the information you consider important. The app may not be cross-platform, meaning you can't do your work on your phone and/or a computer, or you are restricted to only Android or only IOS. Also, the app may not provide the ability to export the data. Lastly, and most importantly, the licensing agreement for the app may give the publisher access to and use of your data and photos.

My suggestion: use standard tools that allow you to export to other formats that can be easily ported to other applications. I plan on cataloging my own collection (one of these days) and I will just use a Google Photos album and a Google Sheet. The photo album can be exported and saved as a ZIP file containing JPGs and backed up. The spreadsheet can be exported to XLS, CSV, or PDF and backed up. This is going to provide the most future-proof and flexible solution for me, and anyone else who has to deal with my collection after I'm gone.

Thanks Roger, I didn't do a thorough enough dive on SB to find that thread. Mods, feel free to delete or merge the threads if possible.
Years ago I started with a google photos/sheets but it wasn't simple enough for my lazy butt. I'm almost positive that most any app I would use would have access to my my data and photos but I don't know that would preclude me from using a really good app. Good point about the export, that would be very necessary.

    No problem.

One more pessimistic point in favor of standard tools. Apps are often backed by single developers or small startup companies. They get bought, they go out of business, passwords get lost or changed, and people die. And one day, your app suddenly stops working. A tale as old as proprietary mobile operating systems.
