Most of them are made in Vietnam for a while now, and there's still a gap between what they can accomplish vs. the Chinese factories.
I just wanted to bump this again because it was so long ago. Recently came across it a couple weeks ago and just remembering the Saturday morning cartoons when the theme songs play
Some great music in there! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLG-ol0jTdM1-ahb9bSWJZasAQXO3Y7fKu&si=IO0gL9e4PMHJwygV
Speaking of this, did anyone else see the 40th anniversary “reissue” of G1 prime? It’s a Walmart exclusive and it looks… really cheap. Like a worst than a bootleg, and being on the heels of missing link convoy seems like a head scratcher. Especially since I bet they’re going to charge $80-$100 for it.
I didn't know about that but found it here: https://www.seibertron.com/transfor...rs-among-reveals-at-sdcc-preview-night/48266/ Like the Soundwave and Blaster reissues, it looks like they were coloring this reissue to look like the animation, and I agree, it does make it look like a bootleg.
As far as characters from the Pretenders, only two I believe, Iguanus and Bomb-Burst. They did a deluxe size Skull-Grin too, but it really should've been core class as well. Other than that some Dinobots and other randoms.
I want to know who came up with the name "Synergex." https://news.tfw2005.com/2024/08/26...es-godzilla-x-transformers-full-reveal-519478
Another recent pick-up, Scrapheap, the only Junkion I'll be getting! Once again, a nicely made new toy. Mostly got him because he's the most similar to Gen1 Wreck-Gar, which is a huge fave in the collection.
Seeing other Junkions other than Wreck-Gar is a welcome surprise. The Godzilla crossovers are very lazy, IMO. I saw the TMNT crossover which looks pretty good, but can someone explain why it's called "Party Wallop?"
I agree. These Godzilla ones felt rushed. The Knight Rider one was tempting but I was able to dodge it.
Magic Square is the only company i try to stay on top of. Their plastics aren't as shiny as other companies, but i like the look. plus both modes are really great. I also really like what Mastermind Creations are doing with their "all built in" Gestalts. The Unicron by 01Studio is just awesome.
New enthusiasm for the Missing Link line with the teaser of Arcee (based on the unproduced prototype) and Sunstreaker (!!!), from the 40th Anniversary Expo in Japan. If this is what we have to do to get 'reissues' of the last few Autobot cars, I'm in. This music video by Studio Trigger is also pretty awesome:
That guy is great. The Hasbro Pulse stream was pretty much what you would expect, but there was some wild stuff shown off in Japan, check out all that Soundwave merch: https://news.tfw2005.com/2024/09/15/transformers-40th-anniversary-expo-additional-images-521246
