“When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master. I also fell out of the fugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. On the upside, i found this studded leather jacket that makes me look tough”

What’s truly horrible about the mysterio guy is th perfectly painted large garamon that he painted over. Now thats worth a couple sad faces. Specially when theres affordable blank ones out there. Though I didn’t see a partial paint or live stream, it’s all I can imagine. when he posted the phtoo hashtagging “coming soon” then posting a picture of his newly paint garamon.

I hear ya, there's a community out there dedicated to painting over beautiful toys, and they're all patting each other on the back for a job well done. A garish, over the top and unnecessary job. I've seen so many Marmit Gojira fucked with, it sucks.

I'll defend some customs, but seeing "MARMIT DESUGOJI EVA 01 VERSION CUSTOM ONE-OFF!" really diminished my faith in people

Sure, but I'm an older fella who remembers the days when people were more than happy with what the maker intended the toy to look like. We respected their stylistic decisions, and bought each toy accordingly. We were happy to just be a collector, and not exploit other people's work for financial gain (or likes on Facebook). I honestly just see most 'customisers' as coat tail riding nerds. Nerds that are out there feverishly fucking up a lot of good Sofubi, whilst cheering each other on. Its a creepy little paint splattered circle jerk ...

Your capacity to find ugly toys is truly remarkable. Are you following all those Artists on IG?

And congrats for finding one of the most horrible paint app for this toy! Truly something.

No, I'm not on IG. I just use google, where certain 'artists' lead you to other similar 'artists'. You just keep going down the rabbit hole of fugly - but there appears to be no bottom. Its endless.

Taking a break from rainbow lumpy grotesque carnival shite, I give you this...

    * Disclaimer - I understand the reference point and still find it foul and well suited to the 'fugly' moniker

Yeah, I thought about posting that one but I could only find close-up photos of the head at the time. I wasn't sure whether it was a phallic reference or not. Isn't it called something to do with noodles?

It riffs off the film Cannibal Holocaust and a scene where a woman is impaled, as per the image.

There's all kinds of fetishes involving skewing ppl in cannibalism while there alive. This method was also used with Vlad The Impaler's enemies as well.

Idk, I find it rather appealing. It certainly does not overdo it with multiple penises and vaginas as well as overly graphic stylization. The cartoon aspect works just right without overdoing it so I'll defend this piece.

Fair enough, the concept is a bit too graphic to fit in with most other sofubi though, so I'd still say its a fugly toy myself. Doesn't matter if the style is cute, its still fucked up.

Not the biggest fan of it, but I'll take Utomaru over zombie rainbow swastika cocks any day - I actually find this soothing to the eyes after scrolling through. Also, best colorway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Shades of Secret Base Human Centipede from a couple of years back.

To each their own but I'd not give either shelf space!

More schlock horror tactics in the same vein as swastikas and blood splatter!

    Meh!

Woman impaled on a large wooden pole through the anus and coming out of the mouth, spewing blood, even in cutesy cartoon form, has too much of a whiff of misogyny for me.

And, that is before we get into the accusations of animal cruelty and snuff elements of the source material.

    Those were... weird.

You guys are EXTRA grumpy today. To be fair I'd argue that guro stuff has always been a billion times more fucked up than anything these swastika cock fanboys could come up with and that it's the casual & cute approach that seems the most jarring/"fucked-up" to Western minds. Again, Kago comes to mind:

That said, no shelf space for Mimi here either.

    EDIT:
You realize the artist is female..? ;)

I see what your saying buy I'm not gonna take the word misogyny seriously. Its gets thrown in the media to much for me care. It's what happens when ya throw around words like that to casually.

Found Dehara unpleasant for the same reason, because most of what I saw when I started looking was the light gore/dick stuff. Changed my tune now of course with some encouragement, and I appreciate all his work artistically. But I still find the most violent and sexual of his designs at least as troubling as the regular fugly goredicks.

I'm about as far from a snowflake as you'll find and I stand by my point that the reference material, and by association, has a whiff about it.

Each to their own but to my eyes it is a shite reference and a shite piece. Perhaps it comes from being a Dad to a daughter but I find nothing attractive about that piece.
