    And it worked too.

Happy Belated, Chris. You know that I wish you all of the very best. We have definitely got a common bond on here, and as a pseud-internet brother as much as can be expected from some vague, ether-existent forum, you and I very much do share a common bond. So please, accept my sincere apologies in overlooking the special day for you. As you may have noticed, I have been hiding in the woodwork here for a little while now, and it was honestly nothing personal. I do feel bad about not marking the occasion in suitable style, as I know what even this little bit can mean.

Anyways, moving on, I really wish you all of the best for your birthday and in the year to come. You know you can beat this and get passed it, as you have with many of life's occurrences. May the next year be a wonderful one for you, and only bring change for the better. For now, please accept my humble apologies and this cake 'I' spent so long baking on just your behalf.

Okay, well maybe not me, exactly.... but the sentiment still stands all the same.

Many happy returns, my good friend. I will caress some vintage vinyl heroes while imbibing on some extra tasty Hendricks, all in your honour. May you do the same, whilst also basking in the glorious knowledge of how enviable your hard-won collection is, to the very discerning and appreciative fan. Many sincere thanks to everything you have shared with the community through the years. Cheers to you, good sir.

Thanks everyone! Steve no worries I never thought it was a slight, I was just reflecting where I was last year and how this past year was a seriously bad year. Got through my first rituxan and then chemo treatment today. Both days walked away with fevers near 104. Rough but I'm sucking it up. I also developed another abscess so I had to get a pic line instead of a port till it heals. My immune system is shot. But good news is im halfway through my first cycle of 6-8. Only can get better despite the rough chemo.

I wish it was a happier birthday for you, Chris, but at least you're on your way to wellness. You'll have to wait til you've got all of this bs licked, then party your cancer free ass off. Here's to better days! [clink]

Thanks for all the b-day wishes guys! Damn skippy when I'm cancer free I'm going take a party my ass off road trip to any unknown place that calls to me. One thing this illness has taught me so far is don't coast, don't settle, don't live out your days doing things that aren't working- because you can get side-lined real quick by anything like stressing over income sources, being in a bad relationship, and shit beyond your control -like a sudden health issue. I don't know I liked me more when I was not so responsible and didn't plan- seems like the minute I tried to change into something I'm not my world collapsed. Guess I'm glad I got my degree but it has done me no good. I'd rather take pictures and travel then beg some environmental firm I'm smart and hire me.

Go full tilt and always go for it- always listen to yourself first and foremost. Who cares what anyone else thinks about you ever? As long as you can look in the mirror and know who you are: all that will ever truly matter.

I can certainly appreciate that, and very much relate Chris. As some here know, I struggled though more graduate school than I care to think on, facing a lot of stuff along the way, and confronted a similar situation when it was all over. Not to say that it isn't worth it - it certainly does take a specific type of person to get through it all unscathed - but it is best to always focus on the real, positive things in life that actually mean something to you in the end. Whether that be more complex things like people you love, experiencing the world, or simple things like movies, enjoyable food, or even silly monster toys - it all makes a huge difference when it means something to you. I think that is what so many people looking in on this hobby from the outside just won't get when they just see plastic dollies. Another reason why buying stuff that actually makes you happy (as I know you do), rather than hype chasing the latest trends or begging for IG likes, etc., is a true testament to why you are in it. Life has thrown some hurdles at you this year, no one could argue with that. I am confident you will pull through this and come out on the other side with an excellent appreciation and perspective. We are all pulling for you. And don't worry about the past stuff, the degree, etc., it will come when it comes, and if not, something better. And to all those going through cancer themselves or with their loved ones, this is not unbeatable. Medical research is expanding daily, and with more investment and support from government (because really, this should be a priority over the sad things our 'spokespeople' seem so fixated on), we are developing potential avenues of treatment that can really have an effect.
