Okay, so he probably appreciates extra meaningless threads clogging up the board as little as anybody here, but in all good and honest spirit, Happy Birthday Chris! It takes a special kind of person to be as grumpy, hockey-enraged, misanthropic, and 'f' rant induced as me, along with a deep love for vintage tokusatsu hero toys - wait, maybe it has something to do with studying science(?) - but at any rate, as far as great members of the SB board and Japanese toy enthusiasts, he is right up there. He has added a fecal tonne to the community in his many years here, and continues to, in spite of it all. And for stellar collections of fantastic toys of all shapes, types, and ages, you need to hunt pretty high and low to find something comparable. Fact is, Lixx is a good dude (just don't tell him anyone said so); and though I might have ongoing plans to take him out and steal all his toys in the future, it isn't personal. So have a great birthday, hope it is as memorable as it needs to be, and that there is some time inbetween assignments this week to catch a game, relax, and enjoy a few beers. Best wishes man. Keep on keepin' on. P.S. Go Habs!
^^secret spy photo from the Lixx birthday cam may your birthday soundtrack be filled with the smashingest amen breaks
Hahahahahaha you guys made me chuckle pretty hard! Thanks for the b-day wishes, and yes blake I'm certainly approaching vintage rapidly in terms of human years. No worries Steve! It's been pretty slow here thread wise, so the birthday thread is a welcome nice surprise even to this grumpasaurus. Psilo I'd rather be spinning some nice amen breaks instead of being in this science hell full of 2 exams, a quiz and a 3 hr lab on my birthday. I just keep telling myself it will all be over soon. Hopefully with a job that affords me to add the that vintage tokusatsu collection one day. I just hope Mr. Tiger 7 does not cost thousands by then. My g/f did send me a pic today of a nice selection of hefeweizen beers she got for me when I arrive home. I'm writing a paper lit tonight for sure.
Not the actual sentiment I'm feeling, but I haven't been able to get this damn song out of my head since I saw the title of this thread: Happy birthday, Chris! May the coming year be as filled with quality gin and imported plastic as you wish it to be.
Thank you everyone! I think the awful Grinch head tattoo I got on my shoulder when I was 17 (hey I was young it was free, xmas time, and I could not think of anything- and I hate xmas) in some dirty kitchen by a skinhead actually melted off my arm. Thanks for the clever b-day messages everyone. I was going to opt for the beer but my girl made me a mini cake and apple pie so I'm leaning that way. Hell- beers later!
