I know you are asking about #11, but I did manage to find an issue of #10 over here recently in a comic shop. I have to say I was really impressed with the range of things covered and so much of the issue was what I am into at the minute. I will look out for #11 now though. Congratulations on getting together some great info.

One complaint however and nothing major, but there is a bit of spelling and missing words shenanigans going on. The Mars-1 article stood out a bit for missing words.

Issue # 11 is one of my favorites of lets say the last 5 issues which I have studied more than others.Maybe its because having digested the past issues and reading more forum info I get a better since of what ITS all about.Anyway just wanted to say its a good issue and looking forward to Issue # 12.

Issue 11 roxx. My favorite articles were the King Waldar, Balzac and the one about broken toys. This is the first time I've been tempted to buy all the exclusives. Great issue. I already want #12.

The Waldar article kicked me in the balls so hard and made me want to spend all of my money on Waldar and Muton figures with the Dokuro King and Torg costumes.

The Danzig article was cool to, I liked the old picture.

That one clear Barom-1 guy with the guts was sick, I can't remember what it was called but I think it said they weren't to hard to find at descent prices.
And that other guy that was in the front of the 5 Monsters was fucking cool as hell, but that was like the most expensive one of the super expensive monsters.

I loved the newer "hand" monster with one eye. Very bizarre. Catching those typos would be good.

Nice to see Dokuro King as a cover cyborg. I would have liked that article to include the recent and reissued Waldars (as they are the only ones I'll probably ever buy). In general I like "reference style" articles, like Mike Johnson's Godzilla article (in the Godzilla issue) or the recent SB and Gargamel articles. Overall nice issue, though. Keep up the good work!

I thought the Barom 1 article was excellent, very informative and in the case of those kaiju photos, lust-inducing. I echo the sentiments above regarding the King Waldar article, it would have been nice if it covered the recent reissues and perhaps even the connection with Diaclone. I liked the Panda-Z interview, too.

Take-shit's column was really good this month. It's neat to get a Japanese fan's perspective on "used" vinyls. I was wondering what the story was behind that "Godzilla goes boating" playset after someone pointed it out to me on Yahoo Japan.

I also thank you for keeping me out of the photos on the last page. That would only impact magazine sales in a bad way. ;p

BTW, I noticed the change on the cover: "Japanese Toy Culture" is now "Toys + Art + Design". I hope you guys plan to stick with the "Japanese" aspect of the magazine for a while.

    Holy Cow!!!
The mag showed up last week and I still haven't read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been so busy at work that I put it aside the day it came and have completely forgotten about it.
And now I'm sick as a dog and could really use it to read and pass some time!!!

I too have to comment on the not so subtle change in the heading.
It's pretty clear that Super 7 will be heading into quite different territory
starting with this most recent issue.
I hope you're not planning on going completely down the slippery slope to um... Juxtapozition.
In that respect the "craftiness" of issue 11 was quite remarkable. You managed to rather subliminally blend a variety of subjects into one
issue, with just a hint of subversion in the mix.
It will be interesting to see just how much crossover happens.
Exposing "urban vinyl" collectors to old skool vinyls will give the collecting world an interesting shot in the arm.
    One burning question-
When are you guys going to start paying for submissions ?

As far as the new header, we are still heavily japanese focuse, we just felt it was starting to become a little less appropriate. It all still stems from the same place, but we have to start showing you more stuff that you have not seen - not just toys. We figure if you like the toys (for example balzac) hopefully you might like the music of balzac as well, or maybe the tees. We just felt it was a bit more appropriate to fill out the entire spectrum of what these people do - it is more than just toys, and it is all cool. It is all art.

As far as submissions go, we are definitely paying now, and we are waiting for the next CB masterpiece. I believe we chatted about Bibyun at one point.....we are ready when you are!
