I would think so, doesnt seem that high for something like that. Im sure the lack of tail and broken claw brought it down. That Marusan Goro auction is crazy $$. Im guessing the blue/green base color is super rare.

man o man that is a very very rare toy that was actually fully lisenced and not to shabby a likeness
but would have IMHO been better off if it was ONLY tarzan. so yes infact him tarzan well ron
ely as tarzan, i was seriously addicted to this series as a kid.

1st 'good' picture i have ever seen of the toy. here is the opening theme:

i would rather have a toy i really care for than any some of money.. 100 years from now toys (i hope) will still exist, not sure about the fate of money. not something i think much about besides using it to buy food and pay utilities money is not very comforting, toys are.

some of my toys would be worthless in todays 'market' yet i would not exchange them for any lump of money. unless of course i wanted another toy or had no other way to buy food, but in general it seems the more folks have of money the less good they do with it.

Heh...I tend to agree with all of the above.

This isn't a hobby for the faint of wallet, that's for sure. If it's within your means, afford what you can. If you're really passionate about a toyline or particular piece, get creative and make it happen--no, don't rob any banks, but be dilligent about saving up for it.

    >One of the Popy store display Red Kings ¥341,265

That's about $4,200... I thought it might go for a lot more than that...!

Is it me or does it look as if he's doing a pelvic thrust in this picture?:

Such a beautiful (and cute!) figure, but oh so expensive

Not sure if Earthtron (Bullmark) was still sparking (pull down the arm and sparks roar out of mouth), but his adoption price sure was--ending at 23050!

    and Bullmark Kameba

Ending at 280700! Cutness does have it's price.

Thank you Mark K for the toy ID and schooling

Yeah, that Kameba was nuts! It was at 10k for the longest time...I thought there was something obvious I was missing...

I guess so: it was obviously legit and all the hardcore folks were waiting til the last minute!

That was extremely high even for that version of the Kameba. I'm pretty sure I saw one for less in the CKA store in Japan when I was there a year ago.

Ok Daniel, please organize a Toy buying and sightseeing trip to Japan! I would love to accompany you and just go crazy on a vintage toy buying spree! I think if we all adopted a huge amount of vintage, the trip would pay for itself in commission and shipping fees. Not to mention, we could actually see and check the conditon of our toys before we bought them (what a concept! ). The Vintage Bug is a fearsome critter when it bites you!

just two bidders with deep pockets that do not care about the price. the winning bidder/service(?) is the same one that bid over 500,000 on the clear father figure. Just crazy. Maybe there is something in this kameba i can not see, but should be around 60,000 at the most these days.

For what it's worth (obviously more than I ever imagined) I used to own that psych-colored Kameba. Maybe not that specific one, but I owned that colorway for years. I stupidly sold it around '96 to Scott Horton at a Chicago G-Fest---I probably sold it for $150. D'oh! And that sparky Earthtron, yep, I used to own that too. Bought it in SF Japantown in the '70s. What was I thinking? Never sell anything ever. Unless you're ready to croak. Lesson learned.

Doh! I actually flinched when I read that astromonster :x  (especially for the multicolored Kameba). They are wonderful toys to be sure, but perhaps you'll readopt them someday! Welcome to the Boards

Readoption? Would be nice... Strangely enough, I picked up a sparking Jiras on the Bay last year for like, $70. I was flabbergasted. That really should be a kaiju name, "Flabbergast."
