Congrats to the person who outbid me for the flesh Ghidorah, haha. Wonderful piece for the price, even with the crack in the wing.

A lovely figure, but man, such a shame about that hefty crack on the wing. Poor King G has certainly had some battle wear from Goji and co. :|

^^Yeah, was watching this auction out of curiosity. Not often that you find a (non-labeled) Hawaiian on eBay, damaged or otherwise.

It's fascinating to me that someone would pay over $400USD for this guy with the fucked up wing, but not $1200USD for the minty one that's up there. I know that's a big price difference, but I'd personally rather take the time and save up for the nicer one. Not that I'm criticizing the winner of this auction, of course...everybody's collecting habits are different!

Not particularly strange or especially rare, but man, what a smatter!

Nice lot of vintage(Circa 1970s-80s) Japan market toys. Various robots in either plastic, diecast metal or a combination of both. Space ships, windup Ultraman monsters, Chokogin shogun, Mini shoguns in plastic balls that look like Japanese Skill crane toys. I know practically nothing about these toy lines and took plenty of pics from close proximity. Most of what you see is unused and minty in boxes. Some of it(The smiley faced and incomplete robots loose) both of which are missing pieces, the prior has a broken arm. I feel I graded the items in this lot accurately but, grading is a subjective process at best, for this reason, I want to encourage and welcome questions. I only ship within the United States. If there is any issue with your order, always know, you can contact me directly and expect a fast reply with proposed solutions. I value your buyer experience highly!

That was such a nice lot and still ended at a fairly reasonable price, in my opinion. There is a good number there for the right chogokin/Popy collector, and even as an occasional fan I would have been happy to get in on some bidding at a different time. Of course for me the Ark Baltan is an immediate standout, even in less than ideal shape, as well as the little windups of the Ultra crew there. Great stuff, would have been nice to part this up amongst some fellow SBers (or CollectionDXers).

This is a hard one for me to share. A real 'grail' for me, as a big Leo collector. I really wanted to add this guy to my family. Even with the condition issues, I would have been over the moon to adopt him. Sadly, a move just a couple weeks ago, and some unexpected costs and real life stuff conspired to pull me out. :(

I know, hardly anything super incredible, or extremely rare, but some days, you just take it personally. Silly toys, right? :| Not sure when this chance will come again. But despite it all, I offer my whole and heartfelt congratulations to the lucky winner.

Not sure how many people clocked this, but there was quite an impressive lot of vintage Marusan and Bullmarks from a seller in Italy which ended today. I am not sure what the story was on these, if they were from a collector, a collection someone 'inherited' but didn't know much about, or maybe were just a bunch of toys some lucky child was given from a relative's trip to Japan maybe. There wasn't much in the way of knowledge shared, and certainly no description at all, outside of the titles, which even then was a bit off on a few. Many still had stickers (or remnants) on them, perhaps from original lot sale here or in Japan, so they could have come from a sale there? All speculation. (but more on that to come)

In any case, on to the toys. Mostly Toho stuff, though some Tsburaya monsters snuck in, and - while perhaps not amazing condition - this was a nice shot to get some real classic kaiju at reasonable prices. I tried on several, but alas, walked away empty-handed. Maybe some good folks here got lucky?

Big Marusan OG 1 (with OG insert flyer no less!):

Big Marusan OG 2 (also with original Marusan flyer):

    Nitto Gamera:

    Nitto Jiger:

    Shimada Minya:

    Marusan [double-stamp] Godzilla:

    Shimada Gabara:

    Bullmark Ghidorah:

Bullmark Gomora (really odd paint shadow on this one, surprised it passed QC ;) ):

    Bullmark Gigan:

    Bullmark Mothra:

    Marusan Gorosaurus:

    Bullmark Anguirus:

    Marusan Baragon:

    Bullmark Mogera:

For those that read this far, I did find it interesting that there were a total of 15 figures listed in this vintage grouping, but the numbers cover a range higher than that. Was there more originally included, did they sell already or were they held back? Who can say....

The bidding on those two Marusan original giants was pretty low and I was considering it, but I've heard so many bad stories about dealing with Italian sellers I decided against it.

A nice listing I discovered doing some archive searching. I don't collect tinnies, but would have happily thrown some money out for this guy. I don't even know much about the various iterations and models, but I still know that some lucky bidder walked away with a hell of a steal on this lovely Ultra. Still in working order, too!!

Yeah mate that really does seem low for a toy that cool, even with the weathering. I don't collect tinnies either, but I do make exceptions when a nice one is a bargain. I have a few books on Tin toys, I'm gonna see if that one is featured . . .

A Spazer sold on eBay a few days ago for $800. Why can't I find these types of listings when they're still active???

Damn, that is a nice one. Not sure if it flew under the radar there, but with only three bids maybe, but all the words are there in the title to think this would have come up on more radars.

I am not sure if anyone here was the lucky buyer for this guy, but I sort of hope it stayed in the family. A lovely piece, I have long admired (and coveted ) one of these for myself, but couldn't jump in for this one. The search will have to continue. But regardless, I am thrilled to see one come up for sale on ebay, and I hope that the audience also appreciated it (which I know at least a few of us did) and the buyer is going to be very happy to have this guy for many years of enjoyment.

Masudaya Tiger Seven Flasher, ended at $308:

If anyone wants some more information on these wonderful toys, I recommend reading Brian's article on them from the first ish of the Super7 magazine, available here (turn to page 44):

I was quite surprised by this Astro-Mu auction. I was hoping someone here might grab this set, but - alas - it wasn't me. If I had known it would go so cheaply, I would have tipped more people to it. As long as it went to a really happy, deserving home, that is fine. (Who knows, maybe @Gojigirl snatched up this set) I think it was a real bargain for the lucky bidder. The two minis alone can go for most of this, and then you ALSO get the vehicle. BUT on top of that, the original box - and even the baggies from the figures!!!! :D I don't think I have ever seen this degree of completeness on one of these. It is even in good shape for its age (the box); the loss of the treads of course really unfortunate but that is rubber aging which can't be helped. Anyhow, pretty nice to see, I at least very appreciate these toys. That vehicle would have given me days of fun as a kid.

Vintage Nakajima Astro-mu 5, vehicle w/ red and grey mini villain aliens, complete in box

Just goes to show, there are still some great finds to be had on ebay for Japanese toys. I only wish it wasn't so hard for international folks to bid on the site.

I really like this Astro-Mu tank, but usually the tracks are always broken.
But it is always nice to see such a complete specimen and admire the art of the box.

^^ Absolutely gorgeous, I would of been tempted to bid on this. I bet there's an old diecast tank, or similar, you could swipe the tracks from and use as a substitute (OK, that's a long shot but its possible) and to be fair, it looks fine without them anyway.
