I think they chose villains that had not been released by Masudaya as a standard size. Except for Thunder Gei but the Masudaya version has a really fancy design...

I personally find their choice really great, but how I would love Nezubadon by Bear Model :!:

Well now that the auction is over, was anyone else here watching this?:
    http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a ... n101761650

Can't believe that it went for that much but then again when do you see both of these around, let alone together? I didn't think they were that rare.

I haven't seen a black Bakler in many years, the red Dustman pops up maybe once a year or so. It is hard to gauge a price for these variant CCP Spectreman kaiju. I picked up a red Thundergay for 3000 and a blue Nezubirdon for around 15000 on YJ this past year. Never saw the blue Nezubirdon before that auction.

So there is a 4th Bakura variation. It looks more dark brown than black.

I have one brown, which is of a lighter color and a silver eye.

I think every CCP reissue has a funny color variation.

I agree with Booshwobe, difficult to appraise those variations, but Dustman & Bakura are among the most popular monsters.

One of Marmit's July pre-orders, 4th version of this giant/30 cm size Bakler, this one with the parasite peeking out of its stomach:
    http://www.marmit.co.jp/tuhan2/rss-025a.html

There are brown, gray, and white versions of this already.

Hmmm, very interesting version. Highly detailed it seems for a Marmit sculpt, much more reminiscent of X-Plus or CCP work. Or I am just misunderstanding and this some kind of vinyl model kit?

You're right, it's definitively more realistic, from their "Real Sofubi Model" series.

But is is not a kit and it is giant size. It's called Bakura 2go.

They made Zeron in this series too, and it's HUGE.

2011 is Spectreman's 40th anniversary and neither Bear Model, CCP or Medicom forgot about this !

Medicom is planning to release with CCP a reissue of Spectreman, along with a completely new sculpt of the pilot version :!:
But this time they don't take international orders... I'm wondering why, as they opened the previous Masudaya/CCP re-releases to everyone.

With X-Plus releasing a B-type version consecutively to their C-type earlier in 2013, Spectreman is still getting a good amount of attention this year.

I'm wondering if Medicom will re-issue Ra as well, as I think it will appeal to gorilla collectors as much as Spectreman fans. Some new monsters sculpts would be amazing too.

My 1000th post could only have been on a Spectreman topic by the way !

that's odd. have the international licensing terms changed?

i wish marmit would reissue their spectreman parababies line. and more masudaya reissues!

Well that is unfortunate news. I don't know how Medicom decides which figures it will offer to international sales, if it is a licensing thing or if it is just random. The latter seems unlikely, because as you said, they have offered the other Spectreman guys before. Could be something to do with expected production numbers too. I definitely want to see more of the Masudaya re-issue stuff too. The CCP and X-Plus figures are absolutely stunning, but for my collection I kind of prefer the 'toy' sculpts.

And congrats on the 1000 post, I agree it couldn't have been more suitable.

Here is the X-Plus proto. Looks better than the first version with its folded arms.

It seems there was a chase version for the first release, quite scarce, with an alternate set of arms stretched forward. I've only seen it on YJA at an insane price of course...

    Thanks Ultrakaiju !

Since we had some activity in this thread again, I really need to do some updates on the database page. I apologise to anyone using it for some releases I missed covering. Does anyone know anything or have seen something like these two before. I don't know anything about them, but from the looks of them they must have been part of a series of the Masudaya reissues; the colour patterns and vinyl are the same. What is interesting to me is that as near as I can tell I am not sure if this is the same vinyl base as the bright green Dustman or not, and so could be a separate small run (maybe done as a promotion?). Anyways, throwing them up here for folks to enjoy. And if anyone can shed some light on them that would be great.

    [IMG][IMG]

While they might look a little plain, there is a lot of subtle additional paint work, and the red touches really set it all off. I really love these guys, and if there are other ones from the re-issue series like this, I would love to pick up a couple more.

Are those yours ? Never seem them before. Interesting.

The green Dustman release is flesh based, so nothing related to this one I think.

Thanks for confirming that. That is what I thought, but I don't have one myself to be sure. Yep these are mine - both came loose like this, and have the P Productions sticker under the feet.

I goes without saying that Dustman is one one of the coolest of any kaiju sculpts out there I think, but this is definitely my favourite version. The different greens used really give him a great alien/monster feel, and the red pupils are a nice little touch for extra personality.

WoW, what a lovely version! Just fantastic colour vinyl, and excellent paint. Congratulations on a beautiful pick up.

Hope you don't mind if I borrow your pics for the database.

Fantastic score on that black Bakura. And a two-face version at that!

Great score plastic xo, glad you were able to win it! It's interesting how years ago some of the CCP reissue colors were so impossible to find and when you did it cost a mint. Some still are not easy, but at least price wise they've seem to come down.

^^ I am not sure that it is black, looks more like dark grey/bluish vinyl. I am not sure if it is just the lighting, but I have listed this and the similar greyish-brown Bakula separately.

I agree Lixx, it is great to see some of these less common colours coming to light. I wish they would more often. The Masudaya re-issues are still some of my favourite lines. This was a really nice find, and definitely went to the right place.

Thanks guys. It's neither black or dark grey/bluish. Difficult to get the real color with the camera, it's very dark brown/gunpowder grey with dark silver sprays. It looks almost black, but it's not.

I would rather say that the price are unstable than decreasing, and this is true for all Spectreman items (CCP, Bear Model). Some monsters are definitively more popular than others, but I was surprised how easily I got this one as Bakura is one of the most sought after in the line.

A new version with pop colors would be great, but I don't think they are producing them anymore, if it wouldn't be for Medicom, I don't think there would be more versions coming from CCP.

Is there a database of Spectreman vinyl with color variations and the like?
