Well just got notice that my package from tokyobuyers is ready to ship. Excited as I finally was able to score a CCP Green Dustman and a CCP GID Bakula. Interesting enough another gid version appeared after losing out to mr medicom on the first by 500 yen. Someone got a deal though as I saw the non gid go for only 4900 yen the next day! Wow. Pics to follow soon....

Congrats ! The GID Bakura is also great because it's an original version by CCP since the belly has been resculpted to remove the worm head.

Thanks it's funny because two still in the bag Dustman came up the very next day (one blue, one green). Blue went super cheap but the green went for more than I paid for mine. Bizarre how good CCP comes in bunches and some go cheap and some don't.

I was actually told at work to take the day off (been working with just one day off a week lately) and I'm really hoping they come today (have to sign for EMS). It would be perfect since any other day I'd miss the postman. Not counting on it though. Will post pics if they come in...

Well some Yamanaya & Emupaiya in there but happy I got my Dustman and Bakula!:

Dustman is almost a matte army green on flesh vinyl. Both figures suffer from uneven foot/leg issues.

Damn, so you were you the guy who out bid me on the two mini GID. I got the other three in the set. If you ever feel like getting rid of them, let me know.

    Nice score.

Yeah it's bound to happen sometime. These were the two I wanted most, not looking to unload. Incidentally I bid pretty low. If it makes you feel better I lost to mr medicom by 100 yen on the GID Bakula only to find it a week later (but ended paying about 40 more for it). I'll keep my eyes peeled jerzy.

    Great !

Too bad CCP is no longer active on the Spectreman franchise.
But Medicom 1/6 shop is now proposing a new version of the Hedoron & Neo Hedoron by Bear Model !

The viny & paint used for the Neo Hedoron gives him a real jellyfish effect. It looks even better than the 1st version (which I missed...).

The purple Hedoron seems nice but I generaly prefer color schemes that look like the original monster in the TV show.

Ergh! My wallet didn't need to see this
Those Bakular para-babies are the bee's knees! I am still wondering why one shows the "parasite", and the other doesn't. Is the one with the parasite the queen?

Bonemask, to answer your question about the "parasite", it lives in the Queen's tummy, and helps her to digest her food. So when Spectreman yanks it out of her, she dies, because she no longer can derive energy from food, which must be processed by the "parasite".

In real life, most termites can't digest the cellulose fiber of the wood they eat. They have organisms living in their guts (they don't have true intestines) which produce enzymes in the termite's guts, which in turn breaks down the cellulose cells so that the termite can absorb and "digest" the wood they eat. These microbes that live in the termite's guts aren't considered parasites (parasites enter the body of a host and live off of the host tissue, thereby harming the host and in some cases can cause death), but rather, they are symbiotic organisms (which means both the host and the occupying organism lives in harmony with the mutual benefit of both involved--termite can absorb digestible food after it's broken down by the enzymes produced by the organisms, and the organisms can live inside the termite... i.e. home). This relationship is mutualism, not parasitic.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Termite
"All termites eat cellulose in its various forms as plant fibre. Cellulose is a rich energy source (as demonstrated by the amount of energy released when wood is burned), but remains difficult to digest. Termites rely primarily upon symbiotic protozoa (metamonads) such as Trichonympha, and other microbes in their gut to digest the cellulose for them and absorb the end products for their own use. Gut protozoa, such as Trichonympha, in turn rely on symbiotic bacteria embedded on their surfaces to produce some of the necessary digestive enzymes. This relationship is one of the finest examples of mutualism among animals. Most so-called higher termites, especially in the Family Termitidae, can produce their own cellulase enzymes. However, they still retain a rich gut fauna and primarily rely upon the bacteria. Owing to closely related bacterial species, it is strongly presumed that the termites' gut flora are descended from the gut flora of the ancestral wood-eating cockroaches, like those of the genus Cryptocercus."

sorry for the long explanation... class dismissed
P.S. Kurumonz, your photos are always stellar!

The new Kuruma release from CCP will be a great addition to their "realistic" line. Great choice to implement their lighting gimmick as they did on Dustman. Too bad the batteries don't last long though...

The first Kuruma prototypes were shown some 2 years ago, I guess they wanted to keep something in hand for the 40th anniversary.

Coupled with a new variation of Spectreman with gold glitter vinyl. I like that. They announce a C type, but I wonder if they will release both C type & B type as they did for all the previous Spectreman.

Looks like there's a blue Spectreman B Type variation and already a new monster planned in the line, very appropriate with the previous comments : BAKURA !!!

@Mr. Humphreys : wow thanks, very informative.

@plasticXO : so the photos is by CCP 2 years ago? i never see this Kuruma before. I am not a big fan of realistic line, but if the set price good i think i might get one. I dont know whats different between Type A,B,C, but for me i usually like the color version that look like the show. I saw the gold version spectreman at local store, its beautiful but it just too much for my taste. and yes really like they made Kurma with lighting eye i should watch that episode again.

about the batteries is it hard to replace? I have a CCP hedo and the batteries still work fine at the moment

Hahahha, I never thought there would be so much activity discussing these Bakula in a few days!! :) As for the CCP figures, I initially also didn't go so much for the 'realism' of these kind of guys (though like the RAH line, it was always mainly the price!!) I did, however, end up picking up a couple ultras for an okay price, so I am anxious to see what they are like in person.

    More SPECTREMAN!!!!!

Thank you kurumonz and bonemask! I used to teach some geology, and I took many biology classes in college (a childhood love for all things wiggly), and even interned at the California Academy of Sciences (in SF), pickling all of their weird and wonderful marine invertebrate specimens from all over the world. I suspect that's why I like Kaiju so much, because they are such weird and wonderful life forms. Definitely agree with Ultrakaiju, there needs to be more discussion and sharing of toys that are from SPECTREMAN! ...now I've got that groovy show tune dancing in my head! :)
