Seems like it is time to rectify a long existing oversight to the board. I was surprised to find there has not been a dedicated thread for the Soul of Chogokin line, only some brief discussions here and there. While not directly vintage, I considered placing this topic there out of general interest to those collectors mostly. I know there used to be a lot of people more active on here into the robo side of things, but many have not been around for years [sadly], but there are still some good peeps I know lurking out there. Hopefully this discussion can lure them out of the shadows.

While I am still often looking for the GX-33 set from a few years back, I am excited for the news that the folks at Tamashi are releasing a new, updated version of the Supaidāman (スパイダーマン) Toei series set. This one comes with a cool transofrming Leopardon and die-cast Marveler with a miniature Spider-Man and Spider Machine GP-0. Included is a life-size (roleplay) Spider Bracelet, complete with lights, music and voice lines from the show. The Leopardon comes equipped with the Sword Viker and Shield and can perform a rocket punch with both detachable fists. :) Quoted retail for the GX-33 Leopardon & Marveler Summoning Set is 22,000 yen, estimated for a September release. Click through link above for full release announcement details, or here for the product page [in Japanese].

What a beautiful sculpt! I used to be a bit of a gokin head, but couldn't balance that along with vinyl. One thing that surprises me about my own taste is that I cherish simplicity in vinyl, but my gokin tastes lean towards the super-articulated and accurate. Maybe it's because my favourite mecha tend to be more recent, like EVA and Gurren Lagann, and I generally find current models of those lacking in size or articulation, or don't like the styling.

I always wondered why we didn’t have a SoC thread. I love me some die cast robots let me tell you. I have a nice little Mazinger Z collection I’m stoked on.
