For sure! I'm gonna try to add some fun texture on this guy or something a long those lines so he can be fun to paint. Haven't though much about colorway but an albino version is a MUST!
Real life axolotls have "ribbing" on their sides that could make for a fun textural element. There are so many variations on the wild type coloration and then the various mutations. You're definitely going to have fun painting them.
Yeah I noticed that too! I was gonna give him some little warts and ridges and whatnot on the back for extra textural fun. Right now it's still the rough air dry sculpt and I'll add details and refine as I go.

What does one do when they want kougai Kaiju but doesn't want to drop 1k for one? You make a tribute figure! I introduce the waxes for the juvenile Kouglet and their enemy/set companion Peyotan! Once the test pulls come in I'll post some better pics, the phone used for the wax pics was a bit low quality.
View this post on Instagram So I've been working on a sculpt of a fungal alien named Kinoko Seijin. This is the second go on a sculpt I originally did in chavant but it just didn't feel right so I tried it out in paper clay and he came out great! Enjoy!
It’s got a nice, mini Elegab feeling to me, though I’m not entirely too familiar with a lot of Elegab. Are those acorns on its chest?
Elegab is a huge influence for me, so I'm glad that shined through haha. They're like oyster mushrooms, I'll probably fix the look of them in wax.
Ah, okay! My apologies for the mixup! After you mentioning what they are I can totally see it now! My perception isn’t always that great.
This guy looks like a lot of fun! Can't wait. Very cool texture that I've never precisely seen before on a toy that I can recall.
He was definitely very fun to make! I've seen similar textures actually after making this on some vintage stuff but none that I've seen with the little texture in the shapes all over the body. My hand and wrist are very tired after making this and texturing like 3-4 times between paper clay and wax haha.
Very exciting, Alien Banpu Mech test pull I received this morning. My first legit made in Japan sofubi. Should have some of these guys in hand soon! While Kinoko Seijin waits for his electro bath.
You're telling me! I get teased every other day when the welder asks me to okay things, it's maddening
View this post on Instagram So, this is almost done. All I need is the little mold holding bar things and it's ready for vinyl once I get my molds. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
View this post on Instagram It's pretty much done. Just gotta clean up the area in my workshop, fill it with salt and we can start trial and error on what works and what doesn't.
