Man, I didn't know they made so many colorways of "Attacking". I've only got the black/silver, but see at least 5 other colorways I'd like to have!
Ralph thanks for posting this pic! I completely forgot they did release a hawaiian and tokyo version. I remember thinking when they came out "I'll be able to pick those up later" Yeah right! Nice little bunch you have there. Ben the dino footprint was the popy logo and always on the feet of their figures. Suppose the same holds true for the reissues by Slash, B-Club etc....
Happy to post them Chris! And yeah, these reissues have the same Popy footprint at the bottoms of their feet. Also, the standing six inch reissue Gojira is equally stellar imo. I've only seen three versions of the standing six inch version released by Slash. Perhaps there's more. I guess what i really enjoy about these and what attracted me so much to them was their playful size.
Those 6 inchers are great too. Ralph you're making me want to collect these with your pics BTW. It's funny how years later it strikes a nerve and makes that trigger finger get itchy again. So I checked the Slash site and there are 4 versions of 6 inch. Those two plus a green ash and black ash version. Quit hyping these 2-3 year old toys!
Oh, interesting...I don't think I've seen that standing Goji sculpt before! Weird...I guess it's because they never pumped one out in GID before. I have (or had) at least 3 or 4 of the attacking Goji sculpt in GID. Fantastic lil dudes. I really like ALL their Popy re-pops (though, ironically enough, I never even noticed the footprint!! )...I just wish they'd kept going with them... Their Rodan is superb...must be enjoyed with some nice Scotch by a warm fire...
I love Slash Company. Their reissue of the Nitto Kawada series (Gamera, Barugon, and Gyaos) in clear vinyl is specatcular and their GID Toho KingZaurus vinyls rule. Just wish they stayed with those crazy paint jobs because their Nitto Gamera series reissues are almost impossible to tell from the originals.
was. I hope they decide to come back. This thread is salt in the wound. I had a heck of a time selling these guys in the past (at the shop) so didn't order them much. I always thought I'd grab some myself the next time around... now... they are gone. Such a great company. Some of the early releases have been on my most wanted list for years and years.
This is from Flickr. All the ones I have look similar: Slash Company "King Ghidorah" (Header Card w/Papers) by chimply kaiju, on Flickr
The Slash/Popy Ghidorah is definitely badass, but honestly, I think they're all great and look amazing together! My favorite is probably Gigan. Or maybe Mechagodzilla.
That small Goji was also re-released in the States as part of the 'Godzillas Gang' line. All of the figures in the line are Ultra kaiju, and they all have little corresponding footprints. (Like the fellow in my avatar.) I got mine in the late-70s, when Mattel briefly had the licence/rights.
I just got two Slash 'zillas on Saturday. One is the standing six inch red w/ black and silver paint and the other is the unpainted GID attacking Godzilla. I'd like to get a painted version of the attacking Godzilla next, and a Godzilla Gang version to compare them to.
I have very very few classic kaiju-style pieces in my collection but I was scrolling through some of these on manda the other day and I gotta say, I love this company and their style, particularly the attacking Godzilla. Would love to see more.
Does anyone know if the Slash reissues came with an ink stamp on the foot, or a sticker, or something to indicate whether the figure is a reissue?
