6" available for Wondercon:http://www.colorinkbook.com/?p=2836 Jesse "Mastodon" spoke of him on his Blog:http://the-mastodon.blogspot.com/2010/04/hiding-in-your-bushes.html
I'm pretty sure that this figure is meant to be a 3D version of this creature that Skinner paints pretty frequently. I love Skinner's work, but I don't think this was a great choice for a figure.
I like it a lot, hopefully I'll grab one at Wondercon. Part of me really hopes he's made from rubber with a wire inside so he can hang out with his cousin Chewbacca Also, if you're not digging this sculpt, we may have something cooking that may be more to your liking..
Now do 10000 Maniacs CD's qualify as "Natalie Merchant CD's," or are we just talking about her solo work?
Burnt twig version ? I really love Skinner's work but this is weird (in a why did he let them do this way)
I think it kicks ass. I want one. kind of bummed only 20 will be at Wondercon. Hopefully I'll snag a future release.
thanks much for the blog love. i like that this guy doesn't have a face. and his real skinny limbs. i do wish he was taller though.
I just hope that Skinner does some HP 1 offs. I like the thought of this guy but think it could have been a tad more ... Lanky ? I can totally see this twice the size as it is now, with super long skinny limbs. I also think the face doesn't need any expression, I don't like the sculpted eyebrows. I would have liked to see just a simple shape head with squinty eyes. An expressionless face would have been creepier if you ask me. Honestly I would have killed to have sculpted a toy for him I also totally agree about the toy with the wire frame so you could pose it like those old Gumby toys.
I would like this more if it was in fact a bendy. I think someone else could make some much cooler figures from Skinners designs
it is resin as i learned from the bros washburn yesterday. the pics don't do it justice really. the detail on the body is super-consistent and i wouldn't say that its faceless. there are some skull features that come through the the leaf-shaped fur, like the eyebrow bone ridge. where the nose would be on a normal face there is a slight natural-looking protrusion that does a good job continuing the suggestion of a masked face. for a resin figure its pretty well-detailed, but with the TMNT figure sculptor doing the work that's to be expected. what i really like is the interactive aspects of this character in figure form. very few art toys are meant to directly interact with other figures, but the Lurker seems made for it.
like garamon, he's also a good masseusse, though he may just be inspecting bakobaso's internal organs for future harvesting.
Well, it's not too bad after all. It's growing on me, creeping on me ! Was it expensive ? Is it going to be sold at store after the event ?
forty bucks, pretty cheap considering the collab has three parties--skinner, bros washburn, david arshawsky (sculptor)
Fingers crossed that this is the first of many figures based on Skinner's work. He has so many amazing characters/images that are just begging to be made into super crazy 80's-style figures.
Yeah I'd like the idea of this guy lurking around my toy shelves. Now where is the little bugger lurking next?
It's quite good. I like it a lot. I don't know where I'd seen a pic that made me think it was brown. Know I dont know if I like it better black. And not even sure if those brown pics where just a visual effect.
