Surprised no one posted about this. Go check out the Gargamel Blog, some very awesome stuff will be in Thrash Out on the 26th.

I saw the blog. I thought I was doing a great job of pretending that this doesn't exist.

    this hurts. :| kidding.

I'm really interested in any new Buta/Garg sculpts and of course new colorways for one of my favorite toys of all time; the Buta Thrashman.

I like how rough and primitive it is compared to M1 or Charactics.

Im surprised to see no painted/sculpted eyes, but i really like the fact they are not sculpted in.
Cant wait to what else is in store for the show.

I kind of personally like the versions without the eyes. The charactics minis are some of my favorite versions.

By the way Joe what..."giant" are you referring to.

If it's this guy..I'm going to flip out.

Matango really shouldn't have eyes, according to the film, but I love them on the M1 version.

M1 can do no wrong.

Hmmm that's all I can say on this one. Not saying I don't like it but it does remind me an awful lot of the Bear Model mini version. Who am I kidding though, Matango? Butanohana? I'd say it's a safe bet it will end up in my collection.

buta has a new figure in the pipeline whose name translate to giant in english. its not the s-teammate but the proto looks interesting. its featured in HH.
the show is titled under ohashi's name and not buta. the s-teammate was released under the ohashi brand which pre-dates buta, so maybe something exciting? :)
there seem to be a number of customs for the show?

not to bum out the positive vibes, but I'm not feeling this matango. looks kind of crappy compared to his other sculpts IMO. i'm disappointed.

I do like his drawings a lot though. great style.

G, I totally see what you mean. The M1's are clean and defined--with awesome paint apps to boot.

BUT...If you 'get' and dig how Mr. Buta himself approach his sculpts, paint apps and choice of colors---in that crude, careless fashion, you will realize in the end that the treatment is different, but somehow , necessary. Damn! Its something you can't easily put your finger on, but you know its something good. :D

This is how I see what he did with this Matango--simply the Buta No Hana version.

I hear ya, Jay. But when I said "his other sculpts" I was talking about Mr. Buta's other sculpts, not Matango's (sorry I wasn't clear  ). I know he brings a very unique and carefree flavor to his toys, but I just feel that his sculpt didn't come off the way I had hoped.

I've been in and out looking at it today...I gotta admit, it has been growing on me a little bit...but I wouldn't buy one at cost. but then again...I'm just waiting for the "Buta blow-out sales" to start collecting them. ;)

has he done a keiji K?

It still will never live up to the original but this, to me, is the best thing from gargamel so far this year. Super excited.

For reals. So looks like it was sculpted by Gargamel to be pocket sized?
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

    So good!
The way the arms and ray gun are sculpted, it does look pocket sized, huh.

i think the regular show stuff will make their way stateside eventually?
but i think the kiyoka and ohashi custom team-mates probably won't :)
