I would definitely be into grabbing these guys. I like the alien headed one a lot. He has a little bit of a Mars Attacks feel to his head.
I could also see them being in the scale of the Cure Boogie Man. After looking again the body proportions seem more similar to that figure. I think I'd prefer them to be FF sized though.
Looks pretty cool. I can picture them as FF size. Especially w/ the stance, already has a bit of SB going on.
these look SO cool. definitly looks the same body, maybe 3 diffrent arm styles. first thought was FF size but w mention of boogie size i could totally see that being the case. no matter what were in trouble, these are killer!
Thinkin' about it, Boogie Man or RI size would be better . . . I'd save some $$$! Fight size or bust!
Pulled from the RxH thread so as not to derail it too much: Is the Astrobrain dead? Or is it just that SB rarely makes cool stuff (like the 1/6 and Astrobrains) these days? I hope there are more Astrobrains (but not too many, or released too quickly!) to be released. (I still need to get the LB one...)
I woulda thought that having gone to the expense of having it sculpted and all the molds/tooling/masks made that a few more would have appeared since the black painted version . . . but Hiddy's a law unto himself!
The Astrobrain with its higher level of detail and looser sprays was what got me to start looking at Secret Base seriously. Hopefully some more cool stuff is in the pipe, but it's been basically dead since the Not Dead Bee, which seemed like it could have been the start of a resurgence.
Here are pics of the Four Horseman's Outer Space Men versions (first released at SDCC). They've released a second wave in different colors as well. (I think for NY or maybe some are shop exclusives?) Enjoy:
Dokuroking - this is an old thread that just got dug up. The Outer Space Men have been discussed elsewhere since they were released. Just an FYI...
im reposting this its mel birkrants' personal relfections of designing massive amazing toys of the vintage age. Its a toy makers school lesson in and of itself. read it skullbrainers so far ahead of his time. http://melbirnkrant.com/colorforms/index.html#bookmark1
Amazing stuff Abe, my favorite quote so far "...one fact had become crystal clear. I could whip out a concept in just a day or two, but finished art took me forever. This drove Harry crazy." I know how that feels like !
