It does not seem to be getting that much coverage in media, but I was genuinely taken aback when I saw a post from Mike Mignola earlier today that Lance Reddick had passed. So tough to lose an actor with such skill and screen presence. Loved his work on Oz, and then of course the utterly phenomenal performance as Lt. Cedric Daniels throughout every season of The Wire. On an incredible show, packed with raw and amazing talent, Reddick's work tied it all together and shone with sincerity and emotion. The struggles he portrayed on that show, the internal battles of what defines strength versus weakness, in the face of the system, and how we handle them, were at the very heart of that that show was all about. I was really pleased to see him find a second following for his great work on Fringe. Sad to say goodbye to a talented actor like that at a young age. RIP.
Total bummer man. Rest in peace to a real one. Love dam near everything this man did. He’s definitely gonna be missed. I know this is selfish but hopefully they recorded some of Resident Evil season 2 with him.
I finished a complete rewatch of The Wire only months ago, he's still fresh in my memory. I also loved Fringe. I'm very sad to hear of his passing. A wonderful actor.
Still reflecting on this, and his many roles great and small. Here is another very good one, quite apt for this place. Minor warning for language.
I knew him mainly from Fringe. Only 60… what a shame. Here’s hoping things are different and he’s still out the more in an alternate universe somewhere.
