waaaaaaay too short of a life for this guy...so much potential for future roles. Very sad for his family and fans
I think that's the saddest part is his daughter being left behind.... Man the way there was that nazal wheeze while saying his lines on the Soprano's. you could here the congestion.... That always led me to believe, yeah this guys unhealthy, Edited(thanks Bryce) But what 51 that's just too young. My heart goes out to him and his family
Sapranos? It's Soprano's and I can't believe he was 37 when that show started. I always thought he was much older. Anyway sad news indeed. 51 is incredibly young.
The first time i saw James Gandolfini was in True Romance . . . he really caught my attention with that role. . . . . and what hasn't already been said about The Sopranos. Absolutely classic show. R.I.P. James.
I dunno, I loved The Sopranos back when it aired, loved James Gandolfini. Then I came across the Actors Studio interview where I discovered that Gandolfini's dad came from Borgotaro, a small town in the Apennines, up in northern Italy. I was blown away as we're talking of a town with more or less 2 to 3000 inhabitants, in the same area where my parents came from (of all places...). I always thought of Tony coming from Avellino but after the Actors Studio interview I couldn't but think of Gandolfini's cultural heritage (knowing very well the area his family came from) and started seeing it in his acting. I was looking forward to seeing Gandolfini back on TV, I guess I'll watch The Sopranos for the third time.
