My house is literally overrun with stuff from our business (seriously we can't have people over, let alone make display room ), but I've been clearing out a bunch of stuff lately, so as I was organizing some things around in the one cabinet I have space in, I decided to take some pictures and post some collection pics finally. Of course I have to start with some toys. Here is a family portrait of my favorite characters with my favorite painting courtesy of the mighty Lamour Supreme This Damnedron is probably my favorite single toy. I was never much of a Pharos fan, I got this one originally just to go with the Murder Damn that will be coming soon (thx Frank!), but when I got it I was so much more stoked with it than I thought I would be. I really appreciate the Pharos sculpt a lot more now. Some of my favorite Real Head guys Some Hedorahs on my TV (my next project is to get a Detolf together to put all my Hedorahs in) I LOVE Dehara. Here are a couple of Morlins and my Zombie Child. The Zombie Children figure was from his latest Japanese exhibition and I was able to adopt this one with the help of Alice, so a big thanks to you!! I love this little vomiting undead guy. They can't all be from Japan This is Jason Ng's Monkey King figure from Tao in Hong Kong. It is really awesome. The box is as much of a work of art as the figure is (I forgot to take a pic of the box so I stole one from another website). I bought this from Munky King in Chinatown, and later they said they were bummed they sold it to me because I got the last one. Woo hoo! Speaking of Munky King, the first time they were at SDCC in 2004, they had graffiti artist Sano painting 2-inch subway train replicas at their booth, so I had him do Drunken Master ones. Here are a couple of pics, one with flash in it's normal place in the cabinet, the other out of the cabinet with no flash. I couldn't decide which one I liked more, so you get to see both. Now for some artwork. A couple of Pus prints This is probably my second favorite piece (after my Lamour painting). It's a print from Japanese artist Aida Makoto called "Harakiri Schoolgirls". I found out about this artist when I did a search on YJA for Takashi Murakami, so maybe he works in Murakami's shop or something? Anyway, this picture does not do the print justice. The print is HUGE (about 3 ft. tall!) and the neon colors really pop in person. Our parents aren't too thrilled with this one when they come over A Peter Beste print of Frost from Satyricon/1349. Here are a couple of photo's we have hanging up from my friend Cathleen, who is an amazing photographer. When she's famous, I'll come back here and name drop her (along with Ted Nugent). You can't see it well, but the first photo was printed on photo paper that gives it a really metallic look. I love this painting. I got it from the artist at Comic Con for $40! He didn't want to take it home, so I did. Finally, this is an old poster for a "Voodoo Party", which were these live shows they did with a haunted house vibe, with live magic and music acts. The top blank part was to fill in the specific date. I was thinking of cutting it off before I framed it, but I just couldn't do it. When I get things more organized I'll put up some pics of my other toys, but I have to find some room in the house first .
Awesome eclectic collection Rick! Forget Long Gone John! Makes me want some of those oranges with legs guys - if u see any around for reasonable prices lmk. Lamours painting kicks ass! I am out of room too. I have that Monkey King figure, and the other two (the Bull God is HUGE, heavy with real metal clothing), and would love to display 'em. Glad to see someone else has this guy! So sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
that Harakiri schoolgir print is AWESOME!! *jealous* so much great stuff, thanks for sharing your pics!!
I saw a t-shirt with that, just line no colour, at the Yokohama Trienalle about 4 years ago. I loved it, I wanted it, but I knew I'd never have the guts to wear it if I bought it.
