it grew on me - at first I was thinking that it wasn't all that different from their last album but upon closer listen I found that it was more structured and some nice punch to it! Lately I've been pairing it with a side-order of ISIS. Now that's some good listenin'!

    Bru-tal show!

holy shit. the mason building was pretty cool and I thought it was a good venue for shows...the acoustics were outta control! I had missed most of the set for A Storm of Light, but I did like their sound.

Mastadon didn't disappoint! That was the second time I saw them and, once again, they come out with over-the-top energy through their whole set. BLISTERING. Sweet Jesus, I could have used another hour of pummeling from them...

Neurosis - now the list of "bands that I have to see sometime" has been completed! I didn't know what to expect -- I guess I thought they'd stick to more of the recent albums, which were more crafted, slightly slower and less power...which wasn't the case last night! I felt like their sound alone beat the shit outta me. And yeah, it was LOUD :D I think the last of my hearing in my left ear is finally gone, but what a way to go!

When they would get into their all-member noise run...that was what I wanted to see along with wanting more, more, more of it! Waves of noise were just rolling over the crowd -- simply beautiful. And the last song? Cripes, the drummer seemed to want to pound his drum kit into the basement....

That was easily one of the tops shows I've ever seen (and lemme tell you, that's a TON of shows). If ya missed it, you really missed out on something special!
