It is so cool they actually used the original 80s design. on these.

I love the original box art. I wonder what happened to the rat.
a better image but no rat also it seems they had to take off the scales to make the lizard look less godzilla, or maybe he looked to goofy.

@shincartoon Those are really cool! I picked up Lizzie myself since the Walmart I work at only seems to have that one in stock. What's even more fun is the Strech Armstrong features these share along with the motion shake sound effects. Very retro all around indeed.

So the Gamestop near me started getting all the Funko 80s MOTU inspired Mortal Kombat series action figures. Old school 5 point articulation and regular He-Man hight. It's only 5 figures at the moment but I was really impressed with how clean and simple the paint apps turned out. And considering they are only 10 dollars a piece i grabbed the whole set.

There are also 1 rare chase figure of Subzero, Raiden and Scorpion but good luck finding those.

I really hope Funko makes more characters from the MK line in this style. For me it seems to work well on an aesthetic scale. And once Super 7 finally releases there own 80s retro remake MOTU figures these guys will have more buddies to be with.

Just spotted those today while I was out running errands. No chase variants though. That translucent Subby is too rad

The fact that these are same scale as the 80s Masters Universe figures is really cool! even the plastic bubbles look like the 80s masters. I searched my local walmart for the rampage toys but there was none....

Not a funko fan and won't be dropping duckets on these toys, but I have to say I'm feeling some serious nostalgia pangs with that Lion-O. Thundercats were my bread and butter as a child of the 80's.

The actual series is pretty horrible to watch as an adult, even though I loved the characters growing up. All of the voice actors talk so intentionally slow, it's like having your head pushed through mashed potatoes. I guess I was watching it in kindergarten/first grade though...

I still love me some Thundercats.

@shincartoon Larry the rat was a special fourth character only on the Atari Lynx version. I have it somewhere !

Didn't you see the other Thundercats toys released by Mattel before everything else went to Super 7?

Haha, it reeaally is hard to watch now . The reboot a few years back is of much higher standards. The original TC had some Great character design which carried over into the toy world. There's a whole slew of cartoons that were like that then. There's nothing like that out now. I wonder what changed. It's not necessarily nostalgia here or a change of taste for me, because I still see the same attraction with the og Thunder Cats, Silver Hawks, og TMNT etc etc that I had then. You'd think that with us kiddies of that era all grown up ,that we'd be rocking it. Tho I guess the whole Saturday morning cartoon world is dead anyhow and there are so many more animated shows for adults now that animators have more choices of places to work. In comparison to what was tho, the streamlined look of today's kid toons and toys to go with just seem less imaginative and forgettable .

For example, look up the original TMNT Mutagen Man figure and compare it to the modern version. I'd find pics to post , but dinner just got here .

    EDIT:

I'm kind of disappointed there will be no second wave of Funko Savage Land Mortal Kombat figures yet. But im hopping that something gets revealed at SDCC. A second wave is much needed. Im Really excited for the Connan The Barbarian Wave though!:D

Here is some pics from Fwoosh.

^ You might want to rehost the bottom two images, @Headhunter; they're both broken, at least for me.

They show up on my phone fine. Not sure what the issue is. I still need to get my normal pc fixed. It's easier to post stuff.

The pix are probably in your cache, hence the visibility on your end.

I like both versions. Keep in mind though that particular wave of TMNT toys is now over. The new turtles toys for Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is now being produced. So he could look even worse in that iteration. I mean look at what they did to the turtles already lmao.

I have a bit of mixed feelings about this one... my first thought is that I love them.

    but.

the balance seems a little bit off on Lion O. when I was a kid I looked at the thundercats figures and thought that they would look so much better if they were in he man proportions. and a couple of years ago a dude made and sold some custom Lion O figures that were Lion Os head on a he man figure and painted. It looked exactly as I expected and it was soooo good.

This one just feels it is trying too much.

the boobs on lion O are too big. His face is too pretty, kind of making him look like a drag queen....

Mumm-ra figure is a little better. compared to Lion O, his head looks too small but the balance of the figure is good.

the rest of the gray figures look okay to me
