Looks like the Titans Return one, with a gun borrowed from someone else.

Nope, it's just the new little "legends class" one from the newest Titans Return wave. Cheap & cute!

That optimus prime is soooo sweet. It looked like the oldschool plastic version I had as a kid but the details are better and everything is on point, plus die cast! I need to get me one of these.

Finally getting around to taking snaps of this thing. Glad to have found it without having to buy the (GI JOE Secret Of The Mummy's Tomb) set. Early 70s.

So, so good, Rei. I think this is my most coveted Joe set actually, and while I've chased it a few times through the years, it always ended up getting set aside for other collection priorities. A purely fun, exciting toy, which would have given me (and probably still would ) hours and hours of play adventures. The mummy is of course the keystone, so so nice to see you were able to pick it up. The detail, the thought put into it, the entire story that comes with it; something missing from so many of today's 'disposable' playthings. A toy worthy of some classic appreciation.

I was already going to post here in regards to the recent TMNT set that is coming out from NECA soon. It is pretty wonderfully detailed, as one would expect from NECA, even if I do always prefer the comic interpretations of the turtle team. But the fact we will finally be getting a cartoon-accurate representation, done in a cool, fantastically rendered action figure, complete with a bundle of neat accessories, well that is pretty nice news. But, I think even better than the shellback fellas, is that the set comes with Shredder and animated foot clan henchmen. Honestly, I am loving a lot about it. Take a look at this special 80s-style collector case it comes in:

But then I say to myself, argh! these SDCC releases are always so exclusive and impossible to come by, it is so far away yet, and why get all excited for something I in all likelihood will never see realised. Not to mention the price tag on this (200$, oof!!) means it is a pipe dream in any case. So I didn't. But not reading the latest news today, I am afraid the excitement cannot be contained any longer...

Hasbro is now re-releasing one of its first playsets from the GI Joe [RAH] line. Now, this appeals more to me, being a child of 70s and 80s toys, the more traditional paper backdrop playset is something I am very familiar with. Representing an early period in the toy line, where the entire reboot into a 3 3/4" line was seen as a big gamble for the company. Yes it is cheap and cheesy, but hey, it was a different time. Anyways, one of those very things I would have (and did) stared at longingly in the toy pages of a catalogue, dreaming of the play adventures I could fulfill.

If the set isn't cool enough, it comes inside a 'fake' aged and weathered traditional RAH box:

Still a bit of a hefty price tag for what you are getting (50$), but let's be honest, this is only for collectors, not children (sadly), so what can you do. Anyhow, SDCC is already shaping up to have some pretty nice looking releases, at least through my nostalgia tinted eyesight.

The TMNT sets are definitely my favorite thus far. Even better than some of the stuff released by Playmates. Those GI Joe sets and figures are even more fantastic as well!

*Sorry I know these are vinyl and this is a non-vinyl thread but we are already talking about TMNT and I can't find any other thread on the topic.

I just got the regular dune TMNT set and am very stoked to receive it. They've combined my favourite things, TMNT and Sofubi. I want the RXH TMNT but haven't seen it anywhere, I'm assuming they are hard to get like much new rxh.

Anyone know when or where these green blanks sold? I'm TMNT crazy this month.

If you take a look back in the actual RxH thread there was an earlier/different take version of them discussed, so that is at least a good place to start.

That deadpool at first glance looked like millar's Kick-Ass.

Mezco makes great toys. I still want a blue grey Batman but 200 is a bit much.

Yikes, Logan's been going through some... changes. Spending too much vacation time on Eternia maybe? Guess it is a generational thing, but I still prefer my Wolvie as the short grumpy woodsman, less hulking ragebeast that came out of the the '90s comic style. Which, fair enough, applied to characters across the board, but has stuck to him like no other. But then, that's about also when Marvel also decided that Wolverine needed to reach Spider-Man levels of being here, there, and everywhere... which sadly continues on to this day.

It's no surprise that the first American toys that I've picked up in years were made in China...

Well, if there was any doubt that this SDCC is all about being "retro" or raising the '80s from the grave, it has been fully quashed now. I give you the new SDCC release that is so utterly '80s (from a toy license perspective) it is the mashup I am sure many young minds of the decade imagined in hours of toybox play. Inspired by the [admittedly pandering, but I don't care] IDW comic series Revolution, in which varying lines of 'toys' crossover in one universal story, here is what this new set will give you:

and, for the possibly uninformed, that is :

    Jetfire - Transformers
    Roadblock - G.I. Joe
    Matt Tracker - M.A.S.K.
    Leoric - Visionaries
Rom and a Dire Wraith - Rom the Spaceknight

BUT, best of all - in my books - is the inclusion of the, ahem, micro Micronauts grouping, which granted spans a bit earlier than these others, but is oh so wonderful. As one can probably surmise, each of these is a character property that IDW has the license to (through Hasbro) curretly - but don't even get me started on the convoluted rights issues with some of these. Anyways, that is a whole lotta toys there, and while it may not be the iterations/versions that would truly get my blood pumping for each of these lines, I will confess this tickles a lot of special places in the ol' nostalgia sprocket. The packaging:

Grab these next week at the Hasbro booth (#3329) or online via the website, alas for a hefty $100 (goshdarnit and these 'collectible' price tags on toys nowadays!). Mashup away fellow toy lovers! Source

That is easily the exclusive of the year. I cannot wait until September so I can grab my set. I do not have a hasbro hookup in July.
