I'm not a fan of the whole action figure revival, but these look pretty goddamn neat, thanks to Mr. Piskor:

Yeah, they actually did a great job with those. Chuck looks awesome. If you look at some of the other pics, Terminator X looks like he's kinda towering over everyone else. This may be true to life, I'm not sure. I'm not super crazy about Flav's outfit. These are mere quibbles, though.

It would be awesome to see more of these. Like, I would snatch up a Afrika Bambaataa fig, for instance:

LOL what the hell does that even mean? Action figures have been around for quite awhile now. Its just some are getting much better in quality and articulation within the 2000's. Action figures have always been my first love i just happened to stumble across sofubi within the last year or so.

By the way those are some gangster fucking toys but they look really cool haha.

Yeah they are really cool i just have not found the Titan Master, voyager or Leader Classes yet. Stuff is starting to trickle in but its like at snails pace still for the most part. It really depends on your area you live in though Rattanicus. Since i live near Detroit my county has a ton of shopping centers and what not to hit up. Its just a matter of finding everything in a timely manner because there's always others that are trying to find the same thing as well. So it can be frustratingly hit or miss allot of times .

But regardless i still love going to brick and motar stores when i can. Nothing is more thrilling in action figure collecting than going in and finding something really cool you want. You cant get that same experience from online shopping allot of times.

He's probably referring to the retro-style these are done in, like Super7, etc. has been doing. That's a fairly recent phenomenon. That's what I figured he meant anyway.

Yeah, I think you misunderstood that alright - no offense to action figures per se intended, I was merely referring to the huge amount of 80ies/"cult"/whatever properties receiving the action figure treatment lately. And saying I'm not a fan of it.

Oh no i wasn't offended at all just confused lol. I see what your getting at now! Idk its a mixed bag for me. On one hand i think its AMAZING were getting better quality versions of those toys but on the other hand i would like to see some new properties too like what the 80s and early 90s were coming up with.

I spied these on my shelf (one of three non-vinyl things on my bookcase) and felt I should post them even though I've had 'em a few years. I've never actually seen these things anywhere since I bought them, and the one time I posted them (on 4chan's /toy/) I got virtually no response. I do recall one guy saying they cost too much (a three pack goes for $50, though I seem to remember them being more when I bought them. that may just be 'cause I was used to paying less for toys at that time). Anyway, these may well be the most well crafted toys I've ever owned, besides just looking really cool. They have a pretty sophisticated suspension/steering system and a concave thing in the seat you can but your finger in so you can steer and "drive" them around. Also, all the different parts are interchangeable, so you can swap out the frames/chassis etc. I've never actually done this, 'cause the screws/screwdriver are kind of tiny and it seemed more trouble than it would be worth, but it seems like a very cool feature, especially for the younger set who are more inclined to fiddle with stuff (now I'm kind of wishing I had a niece or nephew to gift a set to). You really can't tell how cool these are by looking at pics. Highly recommended. Only complaint I can come up with is that the windshield isn't fastened to the black car for some reason. Drop or two of super glue would fix that. Oh, their called Modarri. Almost forgot.

I just looked at YouTube and there's a bunch of videos, so I thought maybe they were a little more popular than I was giving them credit for, but a closer look reveals none of them have very many views (the top rated video has a mere 17 likes and it's two years old). Hence the hard sell. Tell your friends. I found one aimed at girls, which is cool. Not sure why stuff has to be in pink and pastels to be marketed to girls, though. Hey quit gendering me with your heteronormative color wheel, dude :x

    Oh and:
Just wanted to say, despite your rant, when I first saw this I thought it was a full-scale kids gun and I thought holy crap, that's cool! I have no knowledge of the comic this comes from (or doesn't actually come from, as the case might be), but I thought it was very cool purely from a design point of view.

And found my exclusive Shin Akuma Sota Toys Street Fighter figure. I dont remember if the guy had a backstory but i remember it took like an insane amount of dedication to unlock him in Street Fighter: Alpha 2. 7 straight wins, no losses and at least 5 Pefect's I think? I don't quite remember but this figure brought a smile to my face none the less.

Hmm, so that is why there is some noticeable wear in the chest area. Totally fine, just don't get carried away.

Nice, Rei. As much as some people like to poo-poo He-Man as an '80s toy line/marketing gimmick, you have to admit it brought some classic fantasy aesthetic and cool design to [toy] life. I think for that alone it should deserve some recognition.

Today I found myself helplessly swooning over this little 3.75 beauty. It's the new Rogue One "Imperial Ground Crew" figure that's dropping Sept. 30th. Pre-orders are already sold out. I will find one of these. In fact, I'm making it my mission to find at LEAST two of them, because I love the design so much. Members of the 501st, including my local garrison have already started work on builds and CRLs for the new Rogue One kits. Can't WAIT!

Indeed! He-Man is one of those toy lines i cant go without regardless of what ppl say. It really brought something to the toy market new and fresh that had never been done before. Its weird to think of what toys would be like without the influence of He-Mans presence in general.

Toys R Us might be the worst place to gun for one of those. Your better off trying to find a 24 hour Walmart like the one i work at. Last year they carried all the 3.75 and 6 inch figures on release day and no one went away empty handed. Toys R Us and many other stores failed to carry a decent stock for quite awhile.

Having worked the 3am unloading shift for TRU, I can totally vouch that they're complete bollocks of a retail store. Also make sure you wash your hands after touching any of the stuffed animals there. Lord knows what's growing on those things.

Oh man, memory lane. I feel the same way. It was one of those things that you would find out about through friends and had to just take a gamble and try to do. So many good times.

Those are fantastic Rei!! :D I love pulpy sci-fi, and these guys are right out of Metal Hurlant or a wonderful Frazetta cover illustration. So classic, and an aesthetic I find sorry missing these days. No idea what the story is with them, they have almost that Atlantic Galaxy feel, but there are probably loads of these unmarked vintage toys that remain undiscovered. what a wonderful find, I am very jealous.

Well said and well speculated, pH - it's a truly exciting assortment that our man in Virginia has uncovered. I can't get out of my head that they look somehow French...

Rei, all you need is just a precious few more sets of each to have the worlds greatest MÅ“bius-meets-Busby-Berkeley display that ever was!

^ Thanks guys! They really are mysterious and wonderful. Just enough detail, color and subtle suggestion of some amazing adventure that sends the imagination on its way there! Love at 1st sight for me.

Did anyone that participated in Force Friday last week have a good time finding anything? My local walmart at 12 AM carried quite a bit of goodies for the new Rogue One movie. All the wave 1 6 inch figures were present including the 2 reissue figures. However none of the 3.75 inch figures were available at the time because they couldn't find them lol.

So the figures were really nicely done. I quite like the way the K-2S0 droid looks. Picked up an extra death trooper for posing later.

Captain Cassian has some cool detail going on with his figure. Kylo reissue figure with face sculpt came out fantastic looking and Rey while pretty much just a repack comes with that lightsaber everyone has been wanting.

So Friday night rolls around and i just get off of work thinking pretty much everything is done for Force Friday when i noticed a few more Hasbro toy boxes with Star Wars stuff. This first one Had some slightly older figures but it had stuff like farm boy Luke and Jango Fett. But the two figures that caught my eyes were these.
Considering there both not super easy to find in brick and mortar shops i quickly grabbed them.

Than on top of that i found some of the missing 3.75 Rogue one figures that were not available with the rest of the stuff at the time. I really only wanted some Death Troopers but since the only way to get them is through the two pack atm i pretty much passed on almost everything. Except for these 2 Rebels figures being one per case. That right there is going to frustrate allot of ppl trying to complete there Rebels collection of 3.75 figures i can tell right now.
    [IMG] [IMG]

Oh and i picked up an Admiral Ackbar to which is apart of the fully articulated 3.75 set.
    "ITS A TRAP!!"

I heard Toys R Us was once again one of the worst places to try and get anything. One guy even told me that one of the ppl ahead of him bought an entire damn case of Hover Tank Pilot 6 inch figures pretty much leaving everyone else high and dry. I mean you think they would be smart enough to put a limit to exclusives for buyers but i guess its still a thing for events like these. I pretty much avoided that place since i knew what was going to happen.
