i totally agree all these silly collabs and homages to family friendly stuff definitely make me feel like they no longer care to be punk as fuck... which is there right but kills some of my interest in there overall product... i dont really do sugary sweet
imo it's fine to make new money and do mainstream collabs. but everyone seems to be doing Disney and Star Wars. innovation seems lost on OG toys these days but who are we to complain. some collabs just seem effortless and ripped to the general eye. the worst being KAWS' Pinocchio. that was crap. no offence to anyone who has it i still like BxH though as long a they dont lose in the ethos
You know, I have the Kaws Pinocchio, because I like it. Love it, actually. It's true that kaws puts on his crossed eyes and there you have it. But still have to make his toy sculpt from scratch (not sure he makes the actual sculpts). And this is not the case for BXH, who puts two seemingly small ears and short pants to the same sculpt he already has. Oh! and the gloves. But you're right though, and it's been discussed here previously, if they're doing collabs, they show broaden their horizons with other 'universes', rather than stick with Disney and SW all the time. I loved the Kaibutsu kun sets, for example.
this release is exactly what I expect from bxh... they never let me down.. neither does secret base... they do what they want and it always resonates with me
i've always dug BxH and KAWS and i really hope there'll be future releases that'll resonate with the many numbers who supported them for what they were (are). Skull Kun and Companions for me and probably many others actually. ah, i sense something big's gonna come up real soon this year. that Mickey Kun might be the first before the greater ones are let loose
I know right? Not the coolest place I have kicked it with hikaru but it was chill, the baby mama was way stoked to finally meet him, she was like for at least five minutes hahaha
just ordered one. appears to be pretty unpopular but I dig it. dunno what mindstyle has to do w anything other than that likely means they were made in China.
^ i'm wondering what's CLOT gotta do with it. but yeah still trying to absorb an like the figure as a whole. the red and yellow does pop out on the black/white in a nice way
Seems like Clot "curates" these collabs they do. They sold out already, I wasn't expecting that with the poor reception from the boardies.
wish this had subtitles. I know it's hikaru talking w someone from atmos about the upcoming bxh x atmos x adidas superstar collab. awesome toys on the shelf in background is all i'm really concerned w ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ4uWslhsqM&feature=player_embedded
Was this at Disney World or Disneyland in Anaheim? I ask because I saw him in Anaheim a year or so ago as well. Let's face it, he stands out.
Couldn’t agree more. I messaged the Nagoya shop, but they don’t do international shipping, and recommended I ask Tokyo. But they only read my inquiry and never replied. Pretty sure I’ll have to result to YAJ for this one. Finally getting to visit all three BxH stores and meeting Taka last month was cool as shit, too. Just thought I’d share that!
@Biff The black and red marbled Demeru Kun wasn’t released too long ago. Kind of seems to be the new standard figure for them. I also saw Gilru Kun still being sold at all three locations, though I don’t see how. It’s a great toy. My Demeru Kun grails are the black and white, and the black and red! I love the reimagining of the Skull Kun.
The ears should have been jagged to keep a cohesive design aesthetic. The awkward ear shape and placement placement sadly detracts from the design of this figure.
