So amusing! This thread sounds like the equivalent of a bunch of chicks sitting around and discussing "the" latest shoes to buy (no disrespect intended of course!) http://www.forbes.com/2005/12/16/cx_sb_ ... peed=35000 I still can't understand paying thousands for shoes, and when you walk on the street, they're scuffed already! I keep telling Hubby that toys are cheaper than shoes
Ok, I'm late to the game on this one--and maybe there's another thread on this guy (if so, LMK), but what's the deal on this one? Thanks for any help.
^ ah, Ok. well at least it's not the lowest production run Zudon, so that's good news. I've got my heart set on the multicolor one tho. how tall are these things?
I think I saw that. Man, that was a lame move by KT. well, the price can only go down from here, right?
While I personally cannot fault anyone for spending what they feel appropriate for something, I think that was way over priced and having everyone knee jerk on these is making Zudons almost as insanely priced as the two headed bemons. But hey who am I to judge if you have the means and you want it... Sculpt is great and I think the very limited nature is driving alot of people out of the woodwork for them. I've seen some good ones but I'm much rather wait till the hype is over. I've found some great things I've been looking for awhile while people are dumping large sums on the new limited items. THAT said if a Maza/Disc Monster shows up......
For someone who has personally paid over 10,000 for a toy you should buy what you want and pay what you want and don't give a crap what anyone thinks. Some toys that cost 3.50 in 1967 you would be lucky to pay 50,000
I think the point is, and this has been repeated to death and PLEASE don't take this to heart, is we, us, you, me, US make up just about the "market value" on these figures. Paying that much for that toy just made future versions more expensive. It screws you in the future and the community. It's a group thing. I mean this overall, not just THIS case, but a lot of times the "I'll pay what I wanna" speech comes up. It's not about that, no one is telling you what you should and should not spend. It's just that by doing so it just makes these things more expensive for EVERYONE, yourself included. Unlike larger toy collecting markets (star wars/horror/vintage/gi joe etc.) we, US, pretty much the group on this board and some guys in Japan, make up the market which is NOT that big when you think about it all. So we set the price, we set the hype, etc. So it's best for us ALL to keep it down since we can. Most of us have paid and ass price for something at one time or another, but it happens, the rest go "OK, that was a high price, screw that" and hopefully no one does again and the prices/hype die a little. 2 Headed Bemon excluded LOL.
Exactly the point I was making BloodDrinker. Wasn't trying to single anyone's purchase out or even imply what someone should do with their own money. It's a dilemma really. Should you pass up on a hard to find toy, that you may not score again AND pay out the ass for it. Or should you take the high road and refuse to play the obvious flipper game and MISS out on that item only to see someone else nab it at the high same price. It would be literally amazing if everyone on this board just suddenly refused to pay over 125 clams for ANY toy EVER. Seriously think of how much the prices would fall. It will never happen though because where there is a will and a disposable income- there is the problem. Some people here can just afford to do whatever they want whenever they want. Greatest thing though is there are plenty of great toys that don't cost a month's salary. I think these give me the greatest joy. Finding something you've wanted and not killing yourself to get it.
You hit tha nail on tha head Joe...That patient part is something I'm still trying to learn, but I'm doing better..
I disagree you should get what you want when you want and pay a price you want this is a free market and if two people want it at the same time thats the price. if no one wants it the price goes down, this can increase our collections value in some cases and decrease it in others. f%#k price fixing its unamerican!
It's ok to splurge once in awhile. But trust me, prices only go so high because we're fighting each other for it. All the flippers in Japan knows it. Collecting isn't all about Me Me ME~! If that was the case, whoever has the most money wins. Collecting is all about the community here, at least for me. I've gotten great RFSO deals and also crazy hookups just because I try to be nice. It pays off.
I guess someone had buyer's remorse on that Zudon. Ha. Sure pay what you want, but don't cry when everyone else stops paying those prices.
