    If Joe bans someone I will probably ban him. In 4 yrs of moderating I think I have only banned one person. The mods are here to mediate not eradicate. I expect the members to deal with most problems on their own.

    This is your forum, it is up to the members to decided what kind of community they want. The mods and admins are just here in case of emergency. The less moderation the better.

    I actually didn't even know about what it was used for until I started going on skullbrain.
    But since this is the second post I've seen against it in the past 5 minutes, I'll call it my first and last time.

    It was joke gone incredibly wrong. Someone said something sarcastic..the person responding didn't get it..then the original poster said.."Maybe I should use purple font for sarcasm."

    Then for one long terrible day everyone used it and it was annoying..but it still comes up.

    Actually I remember suggesting the purple font thing because for many board members English is not their first language and written sarcasm is one of the hardest things to infer even for native speakers. Funny thing on some boards purple is invisible if the background is black so the inference can still get lost.
